Greetings and thank you for joining us today and for journeying with us throughout this week, when we talked about prayer basics, just revisiting some very essential foundational aspects of prayer. We close today from 1 Thessalonians chapter 5, verses 16 to 18, the apostle Paul says, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." We need to make prayer a continuous flow. While we did speak about having a set time and a set place, making prayer a habit, Paul is telling us here in this passage, make prayer a continuous flow. Pray without ceasing. What does that mean? Because all of us, we do a lot of different things in the course of our day, we go to work or we may be talking with people interacting here going out there. So, how can we pray without ceasing? The point is there is a continuous flow of communion with God taking place throughout the course of the day. So, while we are indeed busy with different things, you are silently whispering prayer to God. Father, help me in this, Father, give me wisdom, Father, help me to say the right thing to this person, Father, help me as I am planning this, Oh God, guide me. So, there there's a continuous flow of prayer from your heart to God throughout the course of the day. In you're coming in and you're going out, you're constantly in that place of connectedness, you're constantly in that place of communion with God, you're praying without ceasing. And notice Paul sandwiched that with rejoice always, give thanks always. Be joyful, be thankful, pray without ceasing. So, you maintain a joyful heart, you have this continuous flow of prayer, communion with God and a continuous flow of gratitude. God, thank you, small things, big things. God, thank you, you're with me. Thank you, you're helping me, even when you face challenges, say Lord, I thank you you're going to help me solve this problem, you're going to help me overcome this, you're going to help me get past to the other side. So, there's gratitude, in everything you're giving thanks because you know God is with you and God is for you. Paul says, this is God's will for us, this is how He wants us to live – joyful, prayerful, thankful and he says this is God's will for you: joyful, prayerful, thankful and prayer becomes a continuous flow. We live a life of prayer. Let's try to do that. Be joyful, be prayerful and be thankful, that's what God wants for us. Let's close, Father, we thank you for your goodness in our lives. Help us to have prayer become a continuous flow in our lives that we'll be constantly in communion with you, always joyful, always thankful by the power of your Holy Spirit, we thank you, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
