In this sermon, We present few of the important names and titles of God in the Old Testament and survey how the people of Israel honored the name of God in their everyday lives. The LORD was close to His people through the mention of His name. They understood the importance of the name of the LORD. We will also consider how Jesus walked with the Father, so He could operate in the Father's name, speaking on behalf of the Father, doing what the Father would do. The Lord Jesus has sent us out in His name to represent Him, even as He came in the Father's name representing the Father. Since we have been sent by Jesus in His name, we must follow the example Jesus set for us. The Lord Jesus sent out His Twelve apostles and later another Seventy disciples to represent Him and go preach what He would preach and do what He would do - healings, deliverances and miracles - using His name. So these people went about "in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth" doing mighty works. Each one of us can also walk in the power and authority His name represents.
