Shalom and welcome to this episode of Living Supernaturally. I hope you’ve been following through this series about being an instrument in God's hands. We’re looking at different aspects of what it means to be an instrument in God’s hands. So, yesterday we spoke about stepping out in faith, and how when God calls us as His instruments, He rarely shows us the way forward, but it takes faith to step out. Today, what we’re going to be looking is that even as we step out in faith, it is to move one step at a time. The Lord asks us to take one step at a time in faith. It's one step forward, trusting that He is guiding us and showing us the next step. We may see that many times, we hesitate because we want to see the next two or three steps, or even the next ten steps ahead of us before we move. There are many examples in the Bible that shows how the people of God stepped forward one step at a time. We see Moses- when God called him at the burning bush; Moses didn't feel qualified, he had a lot of objections. But God didn’t ask him to figure out the whole way out. He simply told him to go and trust that God would lead the way. Later, we see that even when the Israelites stood before the Red Sea, they were all afraid and uncertain. God told Moses to lift his staff and step forward. Only when Moses obeyed did God part the sea. Another example that we do see is Nehemiah; he had a clear vision to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, but he didn’t do it all at once—he took strategic steps. So, taking one step at a time doesn’t mean we can’t have a vision for the big picture. In fact, having a clear vision can actually help us stay on track and keep motivated about what God’s calling us to do. Another example we see is that of Joseph, where God gave him a vision of leadership years in his teen years, but it took many years, many small steps—moving from slavery to prison, then into interpreting dreams. All these steps had to take place before the vision was fulfilled. We see that Paul was given a big vision to spread the gospel, but he went one city at a time, trusting God for each step. Having a big vision is great, but we need to trust God with the process, knowing that He reveals it to us one step at a time. It's about moving forward faithfully while keeping our eyes on Him. Walking with God, one step at a time, is like walking on a dimly lit path at night; a lamp gives you just enough light to see the next step ahead. So, taking it one step at a time keeps us dependent on God. It protects us from feeling overwhelmed and teaches us to trust God every single step. Let's pray together. Heavenly Father, in whatever you have called us, may we have faith to take it one step at a time. Lord, we pray that we will not be impatient to know everything, but as you give us a vision, may we be faithful to move forward one step at a time. help us to depend on you completely, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
