Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you once again for giving us this opportunity to minister God's word and take a few moments in prayer. Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you would wake up each morning already robed in the righteousness of Christ? This week, we're going to look at what it truly means to be robed in righteousness. Today, we'll look at being clothed by grace and not by performance. Romans chapter 11, verse 6, ‘and if by grace then it is no longer of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace. Otherwise, work is no longer work.’ This phrase is a powerful reminder of our identity and worth. It reflects the idea that we are accepted, valued and loved not because of what we achieve or what we perfectly perform, but because of the grace freely given to us. This often points to being covered by God's grace rather than striving by our own efforts and abilities. To be clothed in grace is to wear a new identity, one that is stitched together not by effort or accomplishments, but woven from love, mercy and unenduring favor. Grace becomes the garment that defines us, freeing us from the exhausting cycle of our own performing based living. Many of us spend our time and our lives trying to earn God's approval through good works, religious activity or our own performance. But the Bible teaches us that righteousness is not something we achieve but it's something imputed on us, freely given to us by our God. When we understand that we are clothed by grace, we no longer measure our value against others or against impossible standards. Instead, we walk in confidence knowing that our identity is secure in Christ. The story of the prodigal son beautifully pictures this truth. When the son returned home broken and ashamed, the father firstly placed a robe on him, the best robe. The robe represented acceptance, restoration and belonging. God does the same thing for us; a robe completely covers us. When God looks at us as believers, He does not only look at our failures or our shortcomings, but He looks at us through the righteousness that we have in Christ Jesus. Now, this does not mean that we become righteous or perfect overnight, but it means that we are accepted in Christ because of the righteousness that He provides for us. The enemy often reminds us of our past mistakes, our failures, but God reminds us of our new identity. Living in grace does not mean you and I stop doing good things. Instead, it changes why we do our things. It changes from ‘we have to do something’ to ‘we want to do something’. In a performance-based system, you obey God to get approval. But in a grace system, you obey God because you love God and God loves us. God works as fruit, not as root. Good performance is a result of a changed heart. So, in practical daily living, we obey God out of gratitude for being loved, not out of fear or not just a pass to get into heaven. We stop measuring our spiritual maturity against the performance of others or the people around us. We are standing in God's presence and we remain stable even in our worst days or our most difficult seasons of life not because of our own selves but because of Christ's performance or Christ's work on the cross is constant and He has robbed us in righteousness. Let's pray, Father, we thank you for this simple but profound truth in your word that you have robbed us in righteousness. We come this day, not by our works, not by our performance, but through the precious blood of Jesus and we stand in your presence, righteous, sanctified and justified. We pray God that we will know and reckon this identity that you've given us and walk in it, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
