Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello everyone, it’s been such a joy to continue to learn Gods word together and meditate on it. We are talking about being enthusiastic for the Lord and about different things. Today, I want to talk about being zealous or enthusiastic about growth. Growth is something each one of us must seek in our spiritual journey. In Ephesians chapter 4 and verse 13, Paul says, ‘till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.’ Paul is pointing us to a goal. He is pointing us to a certain place where each one of us must reach in our spiritual journey, that is to a perfect man. In Greek that is ‘telios’ and it simply means maturity. So, as believers, once we come to know the Lord, there is a journey ahead of us. It is a journey of growth where we need to choose to keep growing up to the next level in our pursuit of God, the next level of faith, the next level of loving the Lord, the next level of pursuing the purpose of God for our lives, that is the way we head towards this maturity that Paul is talking about. When we read his writing to the Romans, he points to the fact that we need to be conformed to the image of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ultimately, maturity means becoming more like Jesus in our thoughts, words, motives, intentions, actions, talk about anything but everything should be conformed to the image of Christ and that is a journey we choose to make. I want to encourage us friends, the goal is to become more like Jesus in virtues, in character and also in power. Let’s head towards that and it could be challenging and difficult at certain times but we must be determined to press in and never give up, but make this journey and finish strong. God is calling us to rise up in maturity, in excellence and desiring growth is the key to a successful Christian walk. It is the key to a successful, spiritual journey with Jesus. When we read the writings of apostle Peter, in 2 Peter chapter 1, verses 5 through 9, it talks about different aspects that a believer must look into and grow through each one of them. I’m just going to read that passage because it is quite strengthening. From verse 5 it says, ‘But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.’ It is quite clear here that Peter is just encouraging the believers to add different things to their spiritual character and to come up stronger in the Lord, to keep moving towards being conformed to the image of Christ, so that is my encouragement to us. Let’s actively, enthusiastically, keep adding to our spiritual self. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you for chalking out this beautiful journey with you. Thank you for this born-again life which we have in you. Thank you for the sacrifice of Jesus. I pray that each of us will pursue growth, excellence, maturity and even as we do that, your name will be lifted up and people around us will be greatly blessed, we give you thanks and praise, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
