Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Shalom and thank you for joining us for our series on work, where we are looking at the biblical perspective of work. We’ve been mediating on different aspects of the way that we as believers can do work and can enjoy what God has for us in our workplaces. We’ve looked at earlier that sometimes our attitude towards our work is something we need to really check on. Sometimes our attitude towards work could be that we maybe doing more than what we need to, that we overwork ourselves or at times, not enough, maybe lazy and keeping things aside. However, we do see that these attitudes can lead to potential negative consequences. But scripture teaches us the right attitude, it is to work with all your heart. Colossians chapter 3, verse 24 says, ‘Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.’ In this verse it says, work is to be done with a 100% of effort, not a 50, not a 75, not an 80, but a 100%, with the sincerity of our hearts, with all our hearts. This suggests an intensity and a sense of real investment in what you and I are doing. It is not just putting your time, but it is putting all of your heart in it. What does ‘with all your heart’ mean? ‘With all your heart’ would mean that you do what is given to you willingly, that there is joy and willingness in the work that you do. It would mean to work cheerfully, exhibiting a pleasant and a right and a good attitude towards the work that we have. Working with all your heart would mean to work heartily, with every faculty of our minds and our should, paying attention, ensuring that we critically think about what we are doing, spending our skills and our resources, being creative, using every effort and faculty so that we can do a good job. It could be our attention, it could be our wisdom, our good judgement, our ability to reason and think, these are all faculties that would go into working at it heartily. Working with all your heart or with sincerity of heart will also involve quality, what comes out of our work, it will be the best quality we are to produce. So, we stand and do our best, put in our best and when we work unto Christ, it will mean that we continue at working and making our work better. When we consider our work as a gift from God, we will take care to do it willingly, cheerfully, at our best and to do it heartily. How can you do what is entrusted to you today with all your heart? Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, give us hearts that work willingly, that work cheerfully, that work heartily and do our very best in anything that you have assigned for us, be it at our workplace, be it at our homes, be it at a learning place; whatever you’ve entrusted us to do, may we do it with all our hearts. Empower us by your Spirit, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
