Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much once again for giving us this opportunity to come together, to meditate on God’s word and to spend a few moments in prayer. Our God is a God of miracles and this week, we will just ponder about few of the miracles that Jesus performed during His earthly ministry and how it impacted His hearers and how it can impact our lives as well. John chapter 2, verses 7 through 11, ‘Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!” This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.’ Every wedding is unique. Although there are similar elements such as vows and promises and the family and friends joining this celebration, the bride and the groom bring their own personal touches to the event as well. Whether grand or simple, there is a celebration. Jesus attended a wedding celebration. Traditional Jewish wedding celebrations often lasted up to a week and they usually took place after the harvest when there was abundance. The whole village would attend and the party would be enjoyed by everyone. There was plenty of talking, dancing and feasting unless the wine ran out. In this story, Jesus changes more than 120 gallons of water into wine for the guests at a wedding feast. John tells us that this was the first sign or miracle through which Jesus revealed His glory. Mary the mother of Jesus heard that this had happened and she knew this could lead to dishonor and disgrace for the bridegroom but she also knew her son. Jesus responded with a miracle, turning water into the best of wine. This sign pointed back to God’s promises and ahead to the great celebration of Jesus with His bride, the church in eternity. The wedding feast continued and all was well. Jesus was involved in all the details; He cared about the family and the guests and He provided the best. Signs like this are meant to build us up, build up the faith of His followers and help them trust in Jesus. How is God demonstrating His abundant love for us or for you today? How has God been providing for you as a sign that you belong to Him? The best news is that Jesus cares for you and me and He has given His very life for us so that we can have a new life in abundance. Let’s celebrate and enjoy His presence in our lives. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for your grace and your mercy. We thank you that you are the God of miracles, you can do all things, there is nothing that is impossible for you. You are the same God yesterday, today and forever. We pray that even as we continue this journey in our life, that you will just bring miracles in our midst, you will do miracles in our lives and even as we see these miracles, that we will continue to put our faith and trust in you. We thank you for this opportunity, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
