Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello friends, we are talking about living a powerful and a victorious Christian life. Today, I want to focus on walking in the Spirit. Here is what we have in Galatians chapter 5 and verse 16, ‘I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.’ Paul the apostle, reminds the believers that to overcome the world and the lusts that we see in the world, one needs to walk in the Spirit. What does this mean? Walking in the Spirit simply means yielding to the Spirit or giving into the promptings of the Spirit. We all know that as human beings, even as believers, we have a war with flesh. We have a war with the sinful desires within us which draw us in the wrong direction, they take us away from the nature of God and instead of yielding to them, we are supposed to yield to what the Holy Spirit is saying. When we yield to the Holy Spirit, that is what is walking in the Spirit. When we walk in the Spirit, or in other words, listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, we will be able to overcome the lust of the flesh, this is what God is calling us to, we need to be under the influence of the Holy Spirit. In these very passages, Paul also talks about this expression of being filled with the Spirit, he also at one-point talks about being drunk with the Spirit. Basically, what he is implying is a figure of speech, he is not promoting any sort of an ungodly behavior but the figure of speech is to help us understand that we can come under the influence of the Holy Spirit to such a great extent that we quite easily flow with what God wants for our lives. We know that the role of the Holy Spirit, the function of the Holy Spirit which is to work in line with the word of God, which is to glorify Jesus and so, the Holy Spirit will not cause us to do anything which doesn’t glorify God. The Holy Spirit will never cause us to move in a direction which disagrees with the word of God. The Holy Spirit will lead us in righteous paths, He will lead us in the path of holiness, which is why we must yield to what the Holy Spirit is speaking to us. What will happen if we continue to yield to the voice of the Holy Spirit? In this passage of Galatians chapter 5, we read from verse 22, it says, ‘But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.’ Giving into the Holy Spirit, constantly being in union with the Holy Spirit, will begin to yield results and this set of results is termed as the fruit of the Spirit and we saw all these wonderful virtues, all of this can be produced in us when we are so united with the Holy Spirit. I want to encourage us, walk in the Spirit, you will overcome the lust of the flesh. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you for the truth of your word which enables us to be overcomers. I declare that each of us, we are overcomers in Christ Jesus, we bless you, we honor you, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
