Vision (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Paul Emmanuel

Greetings once again and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for this opportunity to spend a few moments in God’s word and in prayer. This week, we are looking at qualities of leadership and today, we will look at vision. Proverbs chapter 29, verse 18, ‘Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but happy is he who keeps the law.’ Vision is a significant aspect of leadership. It includes the inclination and skills to look ahead, innovate and cope with the unknown. Vision includes optimism and hope, it usually refers to the ability leaders have to form a plan for the future and to get excited about their plan. Vision includes foresight and insight. The Pharisees looked at Peter and saw an unschooled fisherman not worth a second look but Jesus saw Peter as a prophet, teacher and someone who will turn the world upside down. The bible is rich with examples of visionary leaders who shaped history. From Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt to Jesus Christ establishing the foundation of Christian faith, these leaders had a clear vision, a deep sense of purpose guided by their faith in God. In Proverbs chapter 29, verse 18, we find a powerful reminder of the importance of vision, it says where there is no vision, the people will perish. Vision is not just a nice to have aspect, it is essential for success and survival. Leaders who embrace this principle and foster a sense of hope, faith and purpose within their teams are more likely to inspire their teams, their goals and inspire their followers. Ultimately, prophetic vision comes to us through the bible. Another avenue for prophetic vision is Spirit led revelation. Through prayer and intercession, God gives us pictures on what He wants to do and how He is going to do it and opens the invitation for us whether we will do it or not. When we seek God’s face through prolonged times of prayer and worship, we see God’s kingdom and God’s will for our lives. Convincing people that our vision is attainable maybe one of the hardest parts of the leadership process. Good visionary leading stretches peoples mind and thinking just at the right amount. They should feel challenged by the immensity of your vision without feeling hopeless about attaining it. Visionary leaders are rooted in biblical principles and can inspire hope, faith and purpose within an organization. By casting a compelling vision and aligning it with Christian values, leaders can foster a sense of meaning and direction in their follower’s driving success and in growth. As Proverbs chapter 29, verse 18 reminds us a clear vision is essential for the well being of our churches, congregations, organizations and communities. May we all strive to become visionary leaders who inspire our teams to reach new insights while remaining grounded in our shared faith and values in Christ. Let us pray, Father, we want to thank you once again for your word that comes out with such clarity. I pray that you will enable us to be people of vision that we will have foresight into the things that you have for us, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
