Hello everyone, what a joy to keep talking to us about some of the prayers that we can pray for ourselves as a church family of the Lord Jesus Christ. One of the prayers that we can pray for ourselves is to be an uncompromising church. Let’s read from 1 Timothy chapter 3, verse 15, it says, ‘but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.’ In talking about the local church, Paul describes the church to Timothy as the pillar and the ground of truth, that really awakens us to this reality that the church, yes, it is a fellowship, a place where we worship God and the word of God is shared and people are built up in the word of God, many things happen in the church, but one of the assignments for the church is to be the ground and the pillar of truth. By this, we know that God wants the church to be a standard for the world outside. The word of God should become our standard as far as the things pertaining to life are concerned. So, the church has to set the bar high for the world in accordance with the standards that are given in the word of God. So, that is the responsibility of the church. During the times we live in right now, we can see many things happening around us and questions being asked about various matters, we as a church need to be strong and firm in knowing the word of God and living that word out. I just want to encourage us as a church body to pray that we will continue to proclaim the undiluted, uncompromised, pure and complete truth of God’s word and on the basis of this, when people sort of live out that life, they are able to become that pillar and ground of truth that Paul was talking about. We also see in John chapter 17, from verses 16 to 18, where Jesus says, we are not of the world, just that way He was not of the world and He says, He is sending us into the world and we are His representatives. As an uncompromising church, we need to be those who show the world the standards as far as difficult questions are concerned. Today, we know that people maybe asking questions about worship, integrity, sexuality, there are all kinds of questions about the creation, origin of the world and we as God’s people need His grace to proclaim the truth of His word the way He has spoken to us. Here is a prayer church, let’s pray that we will become that church that proclaims the uncompromising truth of God’s word and let us be that church which sets the standards. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that you’ve cleansed us by your word. Thank you that your word is eternal, heaven and earth will pass away but your word will never pass away. We pray that we will align our lives to the word of God and proclaim the uncompromising truth of your word to the world around us. Give us that grace, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
