Greetings! and thank you once again, for this privilege of being able to come your way, spend some time in the word of God and pray together with you. The bible tells us truly God is good and today we can affirm and say that our God is good, truly God is good. We're talking about learning how to live worry free this week and we began with that scripture in 1 Peter chapter 5, verse 7, which says ‘casting all your cares on Him for He cares for you.’ Or as one version would put it, it says ‘pour out all your worries and stress upon Him and leave them there, for He always tenderly cares for you.’ Leave them there because He cares for you. Now, how can we do this? What are the ways in which we can unburden ourselves? All these things that cause us worry sometimes it's about the job, sometimes it's about children, about marriage, about maybe finances, about property matters, health issues, some people are worried about the future, some people were about elderly family members, so many things that can cause worry, how do we cast our cares? How do we transfer these things that cause us worry over unto the Lord? We know that He cares for us, we know that He is able and more than able to handle these matters, but how do we get rid of those things that are troubling our minds so that we are free from it, and they are actually transferred to the Lord. How do we do that? There are many ways the bible teaches us and so we're going to examine them one at a time and today I want to bring us to a very simple thing which many of us are aware of already, but we need to be reminded about it from time to time. It has to do with unburdening through prayer. So, the Bible tells us in Philippians chapter 4, verses 6 and 7 and again these are very familiar verses, it tells us ‘be anxious for nothing or don't worry about anything, don't get stressed out about these things, but in everything that means in every situation and concerning every matter, in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, is beyond our ability to understand, it will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.’ So, he says, all those things that are causing you worry, you pray, you turn it on to the Lord and give thanks that He is handling it. So, you pray, you talk to God about it, you supplicate that means you make your requests and then you say thank you, that means God, I know that me having made this prayer from now on, you're going to handle it and I've transferred these matters into your hands. So, you pray, you make your requests, you give thanks, and you transfer your requests over to the Lord. Sometimes we may need to do this several times during the day. Every time these thoughts about various matters come to our mind, just pause and in that moment, you just say Lord this matter, about the property, this matter about my future, God, I'm putting it into your hands, and I thank you that you are handling it. So, you pray, you make your request, and you give Him thanks and you transfer it to the Lord and His peace will keep our hearts and mind calm and peaceful. So, you and I can unburden through prayer. Let's do that right now, as I pray, you make your request to God, whatever the matters are, put it to the Lord and then give Him thanks that He's taking care of it. Father, we thank you that all the matters that trouble our minds, even now, we place it before you and we ask you, you will intervene in those matters and resolve them for us, bring positive outcomes, good outcomes and we thank you that you will do it, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
