Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Shalom and it is wonderful to come alongside with you to learn and meditate on God’s word. This week, in the new series, we are going to be looking at what the bible says about truth. We know that the idea of truth is spoken about in different spheres, in the sphere of philosophy, art, science and often truth comes across as an abstract concept. But this week, we are going to dive into what scriptures say about truth. The bible doesn’t present truth as a concept or as an idea, but as a person who can be known. John chapter 14, verse 6, Jesus says, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’ Truth here is far more than a moral guide. It is a person and this person is Jesus. Jesus transcended the concept of truth by identifying Himself as the truth. We cannot separate the idea of truth from the person of truth, who is Jesus Christ. In this verse, Jesus identifies Himself not merely as someone who teaches the truth or represents the truth but as truth personified. The emphasis here is that truth is not just a correct set of statements or propositions but it is found in the very person of Jesus. He didn’t say that He would show the truth or He would teach the truth or model it, He is the truth. Jesus is truth personified. He is the source of every truth. People need to understand truth, you and I need to understand truth. More importantly, we need a relational encounter with the person of truth, with Jesus Christ. So, our task is just not to merely proclaim the truths of Christianity and as important as this, our ultimate job is to proclaim that each person can intimately have a personal encounter with the person of truth, which is Jesus Christ. When Jesus embodies truth, then His teachings ultimately reflect that ultimate truth about God. It reflects the truth about humanity and the universe. As a result, we as believers, are called to look to the person of truth as well as to obey His teachings and His commands. In John chapter 14, verse 15, Jesus says, ‘If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.’ When we look to Jesus as the person of truth, we also come to a place of loving His commandments, loving what He says, every word, every precept, every command that He has spoken of. As we journey through in life, we know that we have the truth, the person of Jesus in our lives. For those of us who have accepted Him as our savior, He is truth and He is the one who leads us in all truth. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that you are the person of truth. As we walk through life, may we look to your word for guidance and direction because you being truth, you are the one who shows us the way. Thank you for the privilege that we have in knowing you, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
