Daily Devotional church in Bangalore
by Ps Ashish Raichur
Greetings and thank you for joining us today. This week, we've been talking about transitions, talking about different transitions that you and I will have to face in life as God changes the seasons in our lives, in us as individuals and sometimes in us as a community, as a body. A thought that I want to bring to us today as we wrap up this week is that transitions require us to adapt, to welcome, to accommodate the changes that God wants to bring into our lives. The words of the apostle Paul in Philippians chapter 3, verses 12 to 14, Paul says, ‘brethren, I don't count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind I reach forward to those which are ahead.’ Paul realizes he hasn't already attained; he hasn't reached his final state of full maturity that he's supposed to be at. So, what does he do? He lets go of the past and he steps into the new. He steps into the future; He steps into what God is calling him to as he journeys and presses in to the call of God. So, what must we do in our lives? We must be willing to let go and adapt to the change or the changes that God is bringing into our lives. If we are always looking back, we will never move forward. If you're always thinking about how good the past is used to be, we never are willing to strain forward to the good things, the better things, the greater things that are up ahead of us, which God has in store for us. But like the apostle Paul, we must forget those things which are behind and strain forward for the things that are ahead so that we can press towards the things which God has for us. So, let's do that, journey into the future and press forward to what God has for you. Let's pray, Father, we ask that you give us the grace to adapt, to accommodate change and be willing to move from one season to the next and press into all that you have for us. Give us the grace to do this, in Jesus' name. Amen.
