Hello everyone and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you once again for this wonderful opportunity to spend these few moments in God’s word and prayer. This week, we’ve been talking about a few miracles that Jesus performed during His earthly ministry. Mark chapter 8, verses 22 through 26, ‘They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?” He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.” Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. Jesus sent him home, saying, “Don’t even go into the village.”’ If you have ever had a vision test, you probably recall being asked to read the smallest line that you can clearly see on the eye chart. When you look through a series of lenses, you then tell the doctor, which ones are blurry or clear and adjustments are made to achieve the right focus. The results will determine whether or not you need corrective lenses. But if you are not honest about what you see, we are not helping ourselves, nor are we helping the doctor. When Jesus waled along the street into Bethesda, He was interrupted by friends of a man who was blind asking Jesus to heal him. Jesus did something unique. Jesus spat and put His hands on the man’s eyes. He asked the man what He could see. The man’s response was honest and he talked about seeing people that looked like walking trees. There was vision but it was still not yet clear. Jesus touched the man a second time and then his vision became clear. This was the only gradual or progressive healing described in the ministry of Jesus. Here, it pleased our Lord not to suddenly, but by degrees give perfect sight to this blind man and He did this maybe to indicate as sovereign Lord, He was not tied to any particular method of working. Our Lord was a wise and skillful physician. At first, He healed him in part, as one who imperfectly believed that He who yet saw little with a little sight might believe more perfectly. So, the second time, He healed him perfectly. This miracle teaches us that by degrees we know and trust God, so as to advance step by step in the knowledge and worship of God. There are times when we do not see clearly, there are times we may not understand, even though we know that Jesus is making changes for us. Sometimes, we stumble along with blurred vision. When we follow Jesus carefully, we can ask Him to continue working in our situations so that one day, we can see clearly the bigger plan and purpose that He has for our lives. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for this word and that you are the God who heals, that you are teaching us and making us grow from strength to strength, from glory to glory, step by step. Even as we walk this journey, I pray that you will empower each one of us to walk in integrity, power and the anointing of the Holy Spirit. We thank you and give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
