Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello everyone and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you for giving us this opportunity to come together, spend a few moments in God’s word and to pray. This week, we are talking about repentance and how God is a God who forgives our sins and He calls us to repentance. Leviticus chapter 16, verses 20 to 22, ‘“When Aaron has finished making atonement for the Most Holy Place, the tent of meeting and the altar, he shall bring forward the live goat. He is to lay both hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the wickedness and rebellion of the Israelites—all their sins—and put them on the goat’s head. He shall send the goat away into the wilderness in the care of someone appointed for the task. The goat will carry on itself all their sins to a remote place; and the man shall release it in the wilderness.’ Here in Leviticus, in a lengthy passage about slaughtering animals to atone for people’s sins, we find the imagery that points to our Lord Jesus Christ. One such image is that of a scapegoat. The word scapegoat is still used in the English language dictionary even today. It simply means someone who bears the blame for others. The scapegoat image in Leviticus didn’t work that way. The people were called to repent and acknowledge their guilt as the priest laid his hands on the goat’s head and confessed all the sins and confessed over it all of the people’s sins. This was not just some magical formula, God in His grace was accepting a substitute for the people, taking away their sins, sending it out into the wilderness for destruction and counting the people as righteous. This is a picture that points to our blessed Savior, Jesus who came into this world to take upon Himself the sins of this world. He became the scapegoat for all of us. The apostle Paul puts it later, he says, ‘God made Him who had no sin, to be sin for us so that in Him, we might become the righteousness of God.’ The load of sin was laid on the scapegoat by the way of confession. Notice how the scapegoat laden with iniquity, transgressions and sins was taken out of the camp, out of the city into the wilderness, even into a place literally called an uninhabited place. The sins laid upon the head of the scapegoat are taken away from the people and removed to a forgotten place and not to be found anymore. Here is what Psalm chapter 103, verse 12 says, ‘as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.’ Finally, notice that the ceremony of the scapegoat coincided with the goat of the Lord being sacrificed as a sin offering. Two look alike goats were involved in the ceremony and together they represent how God deals with the sins of His people, providing for a sacrifice and putting away of sin. Not only has Christ died for our sins, He has also carried them away. In Christ, the ceremony of both goats has come into its fulfillment. Christ fulfilled both the roles, the role of the sacrifice goat and the role of the scapegoat. We who have confessed our sins and believed, may have this wonderful assurance that we are saved and forgiven and God will never recall the iniquities we once committed, they are gone and they are carried away. Thanks to Christ, our blessed scapegoat. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you, we thank you for your word, for your promise, we thank you that you are a God who fulfilled your promise, that on the cross, you took our sins, our shame, our iniquities and you set us free that right now we can stand as the righteousness of God, as your children, redeemed, sanctified and cleansed by your blood. We thank you for this assurance that you have given us. Help us to walk in this identity everyday of our lives and to honor you, we ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
