Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello and welcome back to Living Supernaturally, our daily devotion. We are going to take some time to study the word of God and apply it in our lives. We are looking at the resurrection of the Lord Jesus and how just like the birth, life and teaching of the Lord Jesus, the earthly ministry of the Lord Jesus, the resurrection is also a fact, it is also a historical fact. Today, we are going to look at some of the claims for the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. The first one is that we see a broken Roman seal. If you recall, when the Lord Jesus was placed in a tomb, there was a guard of 16 Roman soldiers, were placed outside the tomb, there was a Roman seal placed over there. It was the epitome of authority of that time and no would dare break that seal. On top of that, there were also 16 Roman soldiers who were guarding the tomb. So, we see the broken Roman seal was not humanly possible and the soldiers who had fled, it was something supernatural that had happened, in fact pointing to resurrection. The second one, the claim for resurrection is the empty tomb itself, the place where the body of the Lord Jesus was placed. The tomb was there for everyone to see, all that they had to do was come to the tomb and it was plain and clear. The body that they had placed was not there anymore. So, we see that the empty tomb is there even till today for all of us to see, pointing to the fact God is risen. The third one that we see is that there was a large stone that was rolled to the entrance of the tomb. The body was placed there and historians say it could weigh nearly 2 tones and it was rolled and then the Roman soldiers, of course the guard was there around it. When they came and saw that the body was not there and the tomb was opened, they saw that the stone was actually rolled uphill, it was positioned uphill. Therefore, this heavy 2-ton stone entrance to the tomb to be rolled uphill and placed there and the soldiers no where to be seen, this had to be the supernatural work of God. In fact, there was one angel who came and did that. We see that it couldn’t have been done by any human hand or any other means but because of the supernatural work of God. The fourth one we see is that the Roman guard was no where to be found. They had fled the tomb. What was the reason that these trained warriors, who were trained to kill and be in battle, what made these warriors run away? Something happened that caused them to fear, that they ran away. In fact, the scripture talks about the fact that they went and told the authorities what had really happened. They were witness to the supernatural work of God, and the resurrection. They running away was pointing to the fact that there was a resurrection. The other one that we see is the grave clothes which were inside the tomb. Who would come and steal the body and leave the grave clothes behind? When we read through the gospels, we see that the clothes were rolled and kept there. Who would come and steal the body and carefully unwrap and leave the grave clothes behind? All these point to the fact that the Lord Jesus was resurrected. Today, in your heart and mind, let there be no shadow of a doubt, in fact you can further study and be rooted in this truth, the Lord indeed is risen. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for this truth, we thank you that you are risen. Because you are risen, resurrected life is at work in us. The resurrection power of the Holy Spirit is at work in each one of us. The outworking or the fruit of the resurrection- transformed lives, victory over sin and death and over all the work and power of the enemy is available for each one of us today. So, we thank you and give you all the praise and glory today, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
