The Process (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Ashish Raichur

Greetings and thank you for joining us today on this daily devotional. This week, we're talking about the past, the present, the future; as believers how do we relate to our past, we learn to forget things that we don’t need to recall, we learn to remember the things God has done. In the present, we said one very important thing to stay focused on the purpose. The other thing we must be occupied with in the present is the process. In our text in Philippians chapter 3, verses 12 to 14, in verse 13 the apostle Paul said this, he said, ‘Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.’ Verse 13 says I don’t count myself to have apprehended, that means I don’t see myself as somebody who has already arrived at the destination. Or you can restate it like this, brethren, I see myself still making the journey, I see myself still going through the process, that is the second thing we must be occupied with in the present. There is the process, what is God taking us through. He said, the purpose, why has He called us, what is He doing. Second, I’m in the journey, I’m in the process, so, what is God doing? What is the process of God working in my life? What is He trying to shape in me, achieve in me and build in me? So, I am participating in the process of God. Brethren, I don’t count myself to have reached my destination, to have apprehended but I’m going through the process, I’m journeying with God, I’m co laboring with God, He is working in me and I’m joining with Him. So, I’m part of the process. So, be mindful in the present of God’s process is your life. What is He working in you right now? What is He trying to do? What are the changes He wants to bring? Be occupied with the process of God. Participate in to, cooperate with Him and that is what makes us move from glory to glory, from faith to faith, from strength to strength, causing us to be transformed into the same image of Jesus Christ, the process that God is working in us. The purpose and the process, things we are occupied with in the present. Let’s pray, Father, thank you for the process what we are involved in and what you are doing in our life. Help us to recognize it, be mindful of it and to participate with you in what you are doing, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
