Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello and wish you a wonderful, blessed, successful, prosperous and a fruitful 2023! So delighted to be able to start this new year by doing these daily devotionals with you. Thank you for the opportunity and we trust that you will journey with us through the course of this year, as we come to you each and every day with these 5-minute devotionals, just to spend time in the word of God and in prayer. Of course, I would be delighted if you can tell somebody else about it, let them know about these daily devotionals and encourage them to join us every day. Of course, our pastoral team, different ones of us, will be sharing with you as we go through the course of this year and it is our honor to be able to serve you in this manner. This week, we are going to spend time on what we refer to as the word of the Lord for each year. Now, what we do is we try to listen to God and say ‘God what is one thing that you want us to bring to the people and highlight to the people at the start of each year’. Obviously, this is not the only thing that we live by, we live by the entirety of the scripture, all of the bible is for us every day of the year and this is not the only thing that the Holy Spirit is speaking to us or to the church. The Spirit of God is saying many things and we need to be attentive to all that the Holy Spirit is saying. It was actually towards the end of September of this year, of 2022, just on one of those days, just waiting on the Lord, I felt the Lord draw my attention to this and out of that we are sharing with you the word of the Lord. I have just broken it down into small portions that we will journey through this week. The word of the Lord that we are bringing to us is based on 1 Kings chapter 18, and to just to put it in a line or two for us to remember, I am putting it in these sentences that for this year what God wants to impress on our hearts is that ‘Your blessing is coming, pray through till breakthrough’. That means the blessing of God is on its way, but from our side, we must pray through till breakthrough and that is what we are going to focus on this week, as we explain to you the word of the Lord. Of course, we know that God has blessed us as believers in Christ, He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the spiritual realm. In the spiritual realm, God has not withheld and God is not withholding any blessing, it is available, it is already granted to us. But in our daily life experiences, as we journey through life here on earth, in the natural realm, we are progressively entering into more and more of the goodness and blessing of God in our daily lives, and we are waiting to experience the blessings of God and that is what we are dealing with, that in the natural realm, God is saying your blessing is coming but we need to pray through till breakthrough. In 1 Kings chapter 18, we begin with verses 1 and 2, where we understand the condition of things there. This was a time when Elijah was a prophet in Israel and there had been no rain for 3 years, it was drought and famine, that is not God’s ideal for His people, that is not what God intended for His people. If you look at what God wanted for His people, He said, I am bringing you to a land that is blessed and I will give you rain in its season, I will bless all the work of your hands and that is the will of God and the intent of God for the people. But for several reasons, there was no rain in the land, there was drought, famine, it was hard, that as the present condition and in such a situation, God ends Elijah the prophet saying, go and tell the people and King Ahab, I am going to send rain on the earth. Elijah is telling the people, the blessing is coming, there is rain about to come, you have been through 3.5 years of dryness, deadness, lack of rain, drought and famine but now the word of the Lord is coming saying, your blessing is coming, your rain is coming. In fact, Elijah puts it like this in 1 Kings chapter 18, verse 41, he says, ‘there is the sound of abundance of rain.’ Can you imagine the prophet speaking like this in a time where it has not rained for a little over 3 years? It has not rained, not a single drop and he is saying, there is the sound of abundance of rain, God has spoken, I will send you rain. I don’t know what your present condition is, whether there is dryness and deadness financially, or relationally or professionally or whatever area of your life, it has been barren, it has been dry, it has been dead, but God’s word to you is your blessing is coming, there is the sound of abundance of rain. If you are a minister of God, a pastor, preacher, teacher, pastoring a church and you have not seen growth, expansion, there is the sound of abundance of rain, your blessing is coming, a move of the Holy Spirit is coming, fresh fire is coming, a fresh wind of the Spirit is coming, a move of God is coming, get ready. What has not been seen, is about to be seen, your blessing is coming, get ready. Let’s pray, Father, thank you for your word. We thank you that in the midst of dryness and barrenness, you send us to announce that there is the sound of abundance of rain. We open our hearts to receive, we thank you, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
