Hello and thank you for the opportunity to come your way today and take a few moments in the word of God and prayer. We’ve been talking about the word of the Lord for 2023, ‘Your blessing is coming, pray through till breakthrough’, that’s the word of the Lord and we are explaining it piece by piece each day. Today, I want to bring our attention to what happened as Elijah brought the word of the Lord to the people of Israel at that time in 1 Kings chapter 18. The bible says in 1 Kings chapter 18, verse 42 that, ‘Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees.’ Now, when he bowed down on his knees on the ground and put his face there, that was not just some exercise position, that was his prayer position, in other words, he was engaging in prayer before God. It is very interesting, God spoke and said, I will send rain on the earth. Elijah expressed it saying, I hear the sound of abundance of rain. Now, if it were you and me, perhaps, we would have gone to bed and we would have just gone under the covers and said, well, if God has spoken, I can get a sense, I can sense it in my spirit so I don’t need to do anything. Even though God has given you His promise and even though there is a wonderful sensing in your spirit that the word of the Lord has come forth and there is the sound of abundance of rain, that means we should get into prayer, that is not the time to go under covers and fall asleep, now many of us would have done that, but that is not the time. What did Elijah do? He went up to Mount Carmel, he got on his knees and began to pray, that was the prayer of faith. He could pray in faith because God had spoken, the word of God had been given, there was a stirring, he could hear the sound of abundance of rain, in his spirit he was so aware that this rain is going to come even though there was no sign or indication in the natural, his spirit was bearing witness to what the word of the Lord had come to him and now he is stepping into prayer, that is what you and I need to do. When you and I take the promise of God, the word of the Lord is come, your blessing is coming, you can get a sense of it in your spirit, you know there is a stirring inside you, the time for your blessing has come, what do you do? Get into prayer, pray the prayer of faith, it is time to take the word of God, it is time to move by the inner witness of the Holy Spirit and go into prayer about that matter, that you engage in the prayer of faith for that situation. What is that situation? Where there has been dryness and deadness, a time has come for it to be changed, a time has come for the rain of God to come upon it, for the promise of God to be fulfilled in that area but it is also time for us to get in and engage in the prayer of faith, with faith in our hearts, with the word of God in our hearts, we begin to pray over that matter, Lord, you have said, here I am praying for that word to be fulfilled. The word of God reveals the will of God but God needs somebody here on earth to pray the prayer of faith, that is why we are called coworkers with God, that is why we are called to pray, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. So, get in to prayer, start praying, engage in the prayer of faith because your blessing is coming, pray through till breakthrough. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you, for the promises that are about to be fulfilled, help us to pray in faith to see them through, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
