Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

The Key (Daily Devotional)

Hello and welcome to living supernaturally, welcome to this brand new series and this is called show and tell; just like how in school we would take an object and show and talk about it and we're doing the same thing here, we're looking at some everyday objects and we're looking at how it points to a certain place in scripture or certain instruction in scripture and a truth in scripture, that we can apply it every day in our lives. So, today for show and tell, I have the key. So, this is our car key and I need this key to unlock the car and get in and I need the key to turn on the ignition and drive the car. So, the key is very important, it's small but it's very important and useful. So, keys unlock and give us access to what was previously inaccessible. In Matthew chapter 16 and verse 16 to 19, this is what we see, the Lord Jesus having a conversation with Simon Peter and Simon Peter answers as the course of the conversation and this is what he says, ‘Simon Peter answered and said, “you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”’ So, He's talking about binding what is already bound in heaven, binding it here on earth and losing what is loose on heaven to lose it here on earth. And the Lord specifically saying, I give you the keys of the kingdom. Keys that will give Peter and give us the ability to open up what was previously unlocked, keys that will give us access to what was earlier inaccessible, keys represent authority. Luke chapter 10 and verse 19 the Lord says, ‘behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.’ The Lord Jesus also said, ‘go therefore make disciples of all nations,’ and before that He says in verse 18, “all authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth, go therefore” and He gives the commission, the instructions to go make disciples, baptizing, teaching and so on. And it comes from a place of authority, He delegates that authority to us. So, He's giving us this key which is authority, His authority and He gives it to us overcome challenges, to fight our spiritual battles, to overcome the power of the enemy, to serve and minister to people, to build the kingdom of God. And this authority is based on knowing the king Jesus, the authority flows out of intimacy, this authority comes from our relationship with the king Jesus and this authority also comes from our submission to the king. So today we can choose to walk in this authority, this authority has been given to us and it's a great responsibility, so it depends on us not to lose the authority, which means not to lose that walk of intimacy and relationship with God and not to lose out on the commission that God has given us. So, let's walk in intimacy which leads to greater authority, let's walk in submission, whereby we are able to resist the work of the enemy and let God's agenda be our agenda, so that we can witness, we can teach, preach in love and in all boldness. Let what matters to God, matter to us because He has given us the keys of authority, the keys of the kingdom. Let's pray and thank God for this, Father, we thank you that you've given us the keys of the kingdom and we know that that flows out of intimacy and our relationship with you. We know that flows because when we step out and obey the great commission, that delegated authority flows from you to us, to carry out, to preach, to baptize and to teach. Father God, today we come back to that and even as we receive that key of authority, we want to say thank you and we want to walk in intimacy with you, we want to walk closely and do the things that you called us to do because what matters to you, God matters to our heart. We thank you, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
