Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

The Cross (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Nancy Ramya

Hello friends, welcome, we are talking about our victory in Christ Jesus. We have victory because the Lord Jesus has already won the battle for us. Sometimes when we look at the picture of the Cross, the picture seems like a place of failure and shame, and that is what the people in Jesus’s times understood about the cross, because criminals and those who were condemned of some sort of wrongdoing, they were the ones who were taken to the cross. It is amazing to note that the God of the universe would pick something like the cross for His son to die on. What is the mystery of the cross? When we think of the fact that the Lord Jesus died on the cross, it feels like He was unable to complete what God probably sent Him to do, however Scriptures remind us that Jesus had come with the intention to die because that was the only way through which He can become the perfect lamb of sacrifice. It was very much in the plan of God for Jesus to die for our sins. The Bible very beautifully puts it and says, the cross is a mystery, and as we go beyond that picture of shame and failure which the world accepts, we see that this is really the picture of triumph. Let me read for us from Colossians chapter 2, verses 14 and 15, ‘having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.’ This passage tells us that the Lord Jesus made a public spectacle of the enemy, that is satan who is our foe. Making somebody a public spectacle meant defeating them thoroughly. We also note here that He triumphed on the cross. The cross is a picture of our victory and triumph. Some of us might wonder, if Jesus has triumphed on the cross, how does that apply to me? Paul wrote in Romans chapter 8, verse 37, he said, ‘Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.’ This is God’s intention that He has conquered and through that we become conquerors, He has triumphed, through that we have become triumphant. Remember, that the cross is a picture of triumph, always look to the cross because the cross has overcome sin, sickness, satan, and death.

Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you, that you are victorious, and you have called us to be victorious. We pray that you will establish us in the work of the cross, that we might know that every single day we are victorious in Christ Jesus. We pray that the Holy Spirit will make this is a reality in our hearts, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
