Welcome, everyone, we continue to look at what the blood of Jesus has done for us. Today,
we'll talk about our sanctification. Let's begin by reading a couple of scriptures, 1 John chapter
1, verse 7 says, ‘but if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one
another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.’ The blood of Jesus does a work
of purging us, cleansing us of all sin and the apostle John calls us to acknowledge a righteous
life. When we live a righteous life and a life where we are walking in love with others, he says
that when we are pursuing a righteous life, one of the things that we can be confident about is
that the blood of Jesus is there to cleanse us. The blood of Jesus it has the ability to cleanse us
from all sin and that is the power of the blood of Jesus. So, when we talk about our cleansing it
means that God is making us holy, God is enabling us to be justified as we look at Romans
chapter 5 and verse 9, the Scripture says, ‘much more than, having been justified by His blood,
we shall be saved from wrath through Him.’ And so, the blood of Jesus it cleanses us and it also
justifies us and justify means making us just as if we never sinned, meaning God is giving us a
righteous standing before Him not because of our goodness and our greatness but because of
the power of the blood of Jesus. We are justified by the blood of Jesus and that is a powerful
reality. You and I can have a relationship with the Father and that relationship can have a lot of
confidence because of what Jesus has done for us. And so, let's stand in that reality, let's stand
upon that truth and walk in that right relationship with God because of the power of the blood
of Jesus. Let me quickly read another scripture here, Hebrews chapter 10 and verse 22, where it
says, ‘let us be drawn near with the true heart in full assurance of faith, having our heart
sprinkled with an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.’ Now this is referring
to the cleansing and the purification of our conscience or in other words our hearts and it says
sprinkled referring to the blood of Jesus. So, the blood of Jesus has also helped us to have a
pure heart before God and we must receive the work of the blood of Jesus. Sometimes the
enemy can keep accusing us and as we yield to the accusations of the enemy and do not agree
with God's word, we can continue with a lot of guilt and shame in our hearts. But as we yield to
the truth of God's word and as we saw apostle John talk about walking in righteousness, we are
able to receive the cleansing of the blood and live in right standing with God, live justified and
sanctified before the Lord. Let's pray together, Father, we thank you for this new identity, one
with tremendous confidence, we praise you that as your children, we don't have to hide from
you anymore but because of the blood of Jesus, that we can stand justified and accepted in
your presence. We rejoice in what you have done for us. We praise you, magnify and honor
you, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
