Hello everyone, let's continue to talk about the power of the blood of Jesus and today we'll
focus on how the blood of Jesus has sealed the new covenant for us. Hebrews chapter 8 and
verse six, ‘But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, in as much as He is also the
mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.’ This is talking about
Jesus and it's talking about Jesus becoming that go between God and man, so, He has become a
mediator. And He has become a mediator of a better covenant. As we look at the Old
Testament, we know that God made a covenant with His people and it was a wonderful
covenant as we look at some of the details of the old covenant. We see that God promised
healing, God promised prosperity, God promised protection, God promised deliverance, and
God promised so many amazing things to His people and it was already wonderful. As we look
at the works of God in the lives of the children of Israel, there were many miracles and it is
amazing to meditate on each one of them. Now as if this was not enough, God spoke of a better
covenant. A better covenant which Jesus became a mediator of and the scripture also says a
better covenant which is established on better promises. Now we know for the sealing of a
covenant there was a need for the shedding of blood and Jesus shed His own blood in order to
seal the new covenant. What is a covenant? A covenant is a solemn promise between two
parties and in this case, as we read about Jesus instituting the better covenant or the new
covenant with us, we know that God is on one side and we are on the other side and the
covenant is only as strong as the person who makes it and we know in this case that the Lord
has made it and Jesus has sealed this new covenant for us through His blood. And so, it's
amazing to really receive and walk in faith for all the better promises and the blessings under
the new covenant. Let's read on the blood of Jesus which was shed for us is the blood of the
covenant. It is also called as the blood of the covenant and we see that it was the blood of Jesus
that brought us into a close friendship with God and as we partake of the communion, we also
see that the cup that we partake of, which is the blood of Jesus, it is called as the cup of
blessing. So, the blood of Jesus brings innumerable blessings into our lives and even through
the life and ministry of Jesus, we have had a fore taste of all that Jesus has done and the
scriptures teach us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever more and He
continues to work miracles in our lives. I just wants to encourage us that you and I can have
healing, you and I can have God break every chain of oppression, you and I can walk in mighty
miracles and all of this is possible because we are now recipients of the new covenant with the
better blessings and promises. So, let's thank the Lord for what He has done. Father, we thank
You for the new covenant. We thank you for the better promises and that you have sealed this
covenant for us with your own blood, we worship and honor you, in Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.
