Greetings and thank you for the opportunity to get together like this, to spend a few moments in prayer and in the word of God. We're talking about the believer's authority and today we turn to Ephesians chapter 2, verses 4 to 6. The apostle Paul writes here, "But God who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ. By grace you have been saved and raised us up together and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus." The apostle Paul is unveiling to us a powerful truth here that God has done something for us when Jesus died, was buried and resurrected. In the mind of God, God saw it fit that we would be there and there was something that we would receive from every aspect of Christ's death, burial, resurrection, ascension and exaltation. He tells us here that we were made alive together with Christ and we were resurrected with Jesus and we were raised up and we were made to sit together in the heavenly places in Christ. So, as a believer, spiritually we are in Christ and Paul is telling us that we are seated with Christ at the Father's right hand, that's the highest throne in this universe. There's no higher throne than the throne on which Jesus is sitting next to the right hand of the Father. Paul is telling us we are seated with Him in that place in Christ. Now think about this, why would God do this for us? Why would He say come and be seated at my right hand in Jesus? Of course, it tells us about proximity, tells us about belonging to the family of God, He's saying, come and be a part of my family, that is true. But it also tells us that it gives us authority. We are seated in that throne; we are seated in a place of authority. So, here on earth while we are in our physical bodies, spiritually we are on a throne or seated in a place of great authority, with every principality, power, might and dominion underneath our feet. Now as believers, this must sink deep into our hearts. We must be absolutely convinced about it so that when we face demonic powers, we know where they belong. They're underneath our feet and we are seated at the right hand of God and when we speak, we are speaking from a place of authority. We are actually speaking from the throne of God Himself because we are seated with Christ. That's the authority we have when we speak in the name of Jesus, that's the authority that the demons must submit to, they must submit to the authority of God Himself because we are seated with Christ. And that's where you and I operate from, from that place of being seated with Christ in heavenly realms. So, when you and I exercise authority in our mind, remember we are speaking from the right hand of God and that must take place here on earth. The demonic powers must listen to us the same way they listened to Jesus. We are speaking from His right hand. Let's pray, Father, we thank you that you've made us sit together with Christ and in Christ in the heavenly realms at your right hand and with that place of authority, we rebuke demonic powers, we bind, we cast them out, we counter every evil work that they do and we minister to people from that place of authority. Thank you for the confidence that we have as we do this, in Jesus' name, Amen.
