Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Welcome everyone, glad that you could join us once again and we're talking about Deborah and the famous battle in Judges chapter four and five; and today I just want to focus on the fact that Deborah for one embraced her calling. We read in Judges chapter five and verse seven, ‘village life seized it seized in Israel, until I, Deborah arose, Arose a mother in Israel.’ We understand the background of the times; at that time, Israel did not have any kings. God was leading His people through leaders known as Judges and at this particular time quite unassuming because there was a woman or a lady whom God had chosen to lead His people.

Deborah was a prophetess. So, she understood the grace that she had, and you recognize that she was one who had a lot of credibility with the people. We heard from God, she was even able to go and tell the commander at that time to go into battle and that was good enough for the commander to go into action and not just that, He requested for her support and said if you don't go with me then I will not go. So, you notice that if we can use the word competent, she was one such leader or judge in Israel. So, she was not just a leader but as she describes herself, she says mother in Israel, someone who was able to stand firm and be that pillar of strength for others.

Now think about this, these were difficult times, we read that King Jabin was oppressing the people and people would have really wanted to give up and people would have really been discouraged under such pressure. It could have been a good opportunity for everyone to complain and to just wallow in their own self-pity. But it took some people to stand up or in other words arise, some people to take position, some people to understand what their calling was, some people to understand what grace God has given them, some people to commit and surrender to God and say, okay God, I will go, I will do. And that's exactly what we see in the life of Deborah. She arose and she arose a mother in Israel. And as we look at the New Testament, we are encouraged to also step out with the gifts that God has given us. Romans chapter 12 is very familiar passage for us, which says that we can exercise our gifts in proportion to our faith.

I'll just read a couple of verses, Romans chapter 12 at the end of verse six, it says if prophecy let us prophesy in proportion to our faith and then it goes on, verse seven or ministry let us use it in our ministering. He who teaches in teaching, based on whatever it is that you and I can do for the kingdom of God. And that's all God is asking for us. He wants us to arise. He wants us to take position. And the other beautiful thing that we see in this passage is that they volunteered. Judges chapter 52 says people willingly offered themselves. So, can we be those people who are willing to the call of God on our lives?

Let's pray together Heavenly Father, in difficult times we see Deborah and her team arise. Lord, we pray that your Spirit will move upon each one of our hearts to see what it is that we can bless the body of Christ with and Lord, we pray that many of us Lord will arise, and it will truly be a blessing to the body in Jesus’s name, we pray Amen.
