Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. It is such a joy to come together and meditate in God’s word. We come to our last topic on this week’s title, stewardship. We are talking about staying right before God. 2 Kings chapter 5, verses 24 through 26, ‘When Gehazi came to the hill, he took the things from the servants and put them away in the house. He sent the men away and they left. When he went in and stood before his master, Elisha asked him, “Where have you been, Gehazi?” “Your servant didn’t go anywhere,” Gehazi answered. But Elisha said to him, “Was not my spirit with you when the man got down from his chariot to meet you?’ In today’s passage, Naaman was healed of leprosy by obeying the prophet, Elisha. In the process, he came to know God as the Lord of his life. He even took some earth back from Israel to his homeland as a proof that he believed in Israel’s God as a true God. Though he still had much to learn about the one true God, Elisha said to him, ‘Go in peace’. Gehazi, Elisha’s servant should have had his thinking straight. But the lure of big bucks caused him to compound one lie after the other and compromised the truth of God’s word. So, instead of wearing fancy clothes and silver, Gehazi was clothed with Naaman’s leprosy. This is a very important lesson that we must learn. Let us be aware of anything that shifts our focus away from God to gaining something for ourselves. It will endanger our spiritual well-being. In the end, Gehazi gave Naaman the wrong message about God’s free gift and he ruined his life. Gehazi saw many miracles, he eye - witnessed many miracles himself. He witnessed a childless woman have a child and when that woman’s boy died, he saw him live again. He also witnessed hundred people satisfy themselves with a few portions of food. But instead of being humble, he grew more corrupted. God will always give you a way to escape temptation. He will not allow us to be tempted more than we can handle. We can never say that we had no choice but to sin. While serving God has its benefits, it also brings many challenges to us. Some of these challenges come in the form of unbelief, doubt, and temptations. We must be careful with our hearts and minds and be good, faithful stewards with what God has blessed us with. When we keep our mind and heart focused on Jesus, we know that He will see us through. Let’s pray, Father, we want to thank you for this beautiful week and this topic of being content. I pray that even as we together journey through life, that we will learn to be content. Thank you that you have blessed us with every spiritual blessing, that we can stand on your word and on your promises. Lord, we pray that you will teach us that in every season, in every area of our life that we will learn to be content. I pray Holy Spirit that you will lead us and guide us, empower us as your children, we thank you Father, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
