Daily Devotional church in Bangalore
by Ps Nancy Ramya

Welcome once again friends, we’re talking about the hope of God and hoping in God. I want to continue to encourage each one of us today, there is nobody among us who has not faced, lacked discouragement or disappointment. Whatever is pulling us down now, let's not give our attention to these things, instead, let's fix our gaze on Jesus. One of the ways in which we can remain in hope is to stay inspired. Hebrews chapter six and verse 12, it says ‘that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.’ Sometimes, when we cannot see the way ahead of us, when we cannot see the strength in us, when we are so heavy laden by the sorrows of our failure, it becomes difficult to take the next step. But in those moments, God's word reminds us that we can look at others who have made the journey. We can be inspired by them, and we can keep going forward in God. We must all pause in life. It doesn't help to deny the grief and the sorrow that we are facing in our difficult situation, instead, we can look at the lives of people who have made it, despite all the difficulties that they faced. If they can make it because of God in their lives, we too can make it because of the power of God in our lives. Hebrews chapter 11 is a good passage to turn to and I'll quickly look at some examples from Hebrews chapter 11, these are from versus 30 to 35. From verse 30 ‘by faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days. By faith the Harlot rehab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace. And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell you of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets:’ and the list just continues. So many people who have conquered their challenges and disappointments because of God in their lives. Today, you and I can become those examples, who don't give up, but who look to God as the source of all hope and the Holy Spirit is able to put hope back into our hearts, that we keep running this race and run it well. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that you enlighten us with your truth. Thank you that no darkness can engulf us but Lord, you are the light of this world and Lord as you shine through our lives, we can conquer any challenge that we're facing today. Thank you for that overcoming grace, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
