Hi everyone, welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much once again for giving us this wonderful opportunity to minister God’s word and pray together. This week, we are talking about the miracles of Jesus and how He ministered healing. Luke chapter 13, verse 16, ‘should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?’ This story again, is an incredible story of restoration and healing. Everyone probably knew her as the bent over woman. She came to worship in the synagogue regularly but she was not recognized by her name but by her condition. Her identity as God’s child was taken away from her. Her neighbors saw her through eyes of pity. The religious leaders saw her as an example of someone who was not right with God and deserved the sickness she had. She came to the synagogue every Sabbath crippled with pain, bent over in shame and thirsty for the living water form God to bring healing on her body. Yet, no one paid attention to her. For eighteen long years, the religious leaders failed to pray with her for the six other days that they had and the opportunities they had to pray for healing. But Jesus saw her. When He called her forward, she might have thought He meant someone else but Jesus was speaking straight at her. So, she slowly shuffled towards Him. Jesus saw her as a prisoner who needed to be set free from this bondage. We could say the religious leaders had a point. This woman had been bent over for eighteen years, would waiting one more day make much of a difference? But to Jesus, this was about setting the person free from a burdensome disease and giving her the dignity of being a child of Abraham. What’s more, this was about giving glory to God and for the woman to be restored on the sabbath day. Ultimately, the healing pointed to the salvation that only Jesus can offer. Salvation is so important that Jesus wanted the authorities to know that it should take place at any day and at any time. Healing of this woman can teach us that we also shouldn’t wait to receive the salvation of Jesus. Salvation is a free, eternal gift and it makes each of our lives better. With such a great gift offered to us, why should we wait any longer to receive it? Receive Jesus’ salvation into your hearts and lives today. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for this word and for your healing power that rests upon each one of us. We declare your promise that by your stripes we are healed and we pray we will continue to rest in you and you word. We give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
