Welcome friends, I trust that you are learning and applying what we're learning about the Holy Spirit. Today, I'd like to share with us that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of counsel. When we read John chapter 14 and verse 26, in the amplified version, it describes the Holy Spirit in this manner, ‘but the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor- Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the father will send in my name (in my place, to represent me and act on my behalf), He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember Everything that I have told you.’ God the Father found it necessary to send us a Helper. While the disciples had Jesus, we the believers who are living after the cross have the very Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit as our Helper, as our Counselor. The council of the Holy Spirit is seen in the book of Acts. We find that Paul and the others who were serving God were led so beautifully by the Holy Spirit. They had dreams, they had visions, they were told where to go, they were told who to meet, they were given the words to speak when they were facing challenging circumstances, or they were preaching the very word of God. But the Holy Spirit was guiding them through and through and today, you and I, we can depend on the Holy Spirit to hear from Him in various ways. It could be a still small voice in our spirit, it could be a dream that God gives us or speaking through somebody to us, giving us a vision. The Holy Spirit can guide and lead us in many ways and of course, we know that it will be in line with what scriptures have to tell us and always depend on the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit because He is the Spirit of Counsel. 1 John chapter two and verse 27 also tells us that ‘He is the anointing within us who teaches all things.’ Whatever it is that you and I have need of, He is able to teach us, guide us and lead us by His power and by His grace. So, let's depend on the Holy Spirit to be our counselor today. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us the Holy Spirit who is with us at all times, who is able to lead us into the things that you have purposed for us. Father, we ask that we will have a clear direction, clear open doors that we can step forward and we can do all that you have called us to do, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
