Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello everyone, hope you are enjoying this series on worship. We are talking about what worship really is so that we can worship God with everything that we have. There is another passage in John chapter 4, verses 21 through 24, this is when Jesus meets the Samaritan woman and she has some profound questions to ask Jesus about which is the best place to worship and how should we worship. Jesus responds to her questions, verse 21, ‘Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”’ We will focus on these words ‘spirit and truth’. In responding to this woman at the well, Jesus said that the Father God, He is seeking true worshippers and these worshippers will worship the Father in spirit. What we gain from this is that worship is a spiritual act. It is not so much something that we do on the outside but it is from within us, it is from our spirit and so when we worship, it is so personal and it is very real because it comes from inside of us and that is what God is saying about worship. It is possible for us to do a couple of activities and participate in some set way of expressing worship and really not be connected from within; that is not the kind of worship that God is looking for. Here Jesus said, that those who worship the Father, they will worship in spirit, meaning form their hearts and in a personal way, it is a spiritual act. Another thing that He adds here is truth. When we worship God, we worship Him in spirit but we also need truth about God. We’ve already said this that worship is a response to the worth ship of God and we need to keep recognizing the worth ship of God or how worthy God is. There is a beautiful passage in Revelation chapter 1, verses 12 to 17, I will quickly read it for us, it says, ‘Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.’ We can talk so much about this description of Jesus that is given here, but going straight to the point, verse 17 John says, ‘when I saw Him, I fell at His feet.’ When we see who He is, it strengthens and enables us to worship Him right and better. Let’s worship Him in spirit and in truth. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you for these pointers to give you the kind of worship you are seeking. Help us to be those worshippers who worship you as a spiritual act and with revelation of your word, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
