Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and thank you so much for the opportunity to come to you today at the beginning of a brand-new week and spend some time in the course of this week in God’s word and in prayer. We thank you for giving us this opportunity to come your way. This week, we are going to spend some time thinking about, meditating on what the scriptures promised to us on shalom or peace. We are going to talk about total shalom or living in total shalom, living in this place of total peace and what does the scriptures promise to us, what has God made available to us and how do we actually live in that place of total shalom. We are going to spend some time just thinking about this over the course of this week and continue this on in to the coming week as well. I want to begin today by reading Isaiah chapter 26, verse 3, ‘You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.’ Over the course of these two weeks, we are going to keep coming back to this particular verse of scripture to look at everything it is presenting to us. I want to just bring our attention to what this scripture promises we can have. It says, you will keep him in perfect peace, the person whose mind is stayed on you. There is a place of perfect peace that is available to us as the people of God. The question that we want to unravel is how do we get into that place and live in that place of perfect peace which we are calling as total shalom. It is very interesting to look at how the Hebrew puts this scripture. Perfect peace if actually shalom, shalom; that same word repeated twice. In the English bible, we translate it as perfect peace or to say shalom, shalom or total or complete shalom. What is shalom? When we look at the Hebrew text/ scriptures, shalom is a very big and comprehensive word. It is not as simple as our English word, peace but what it really means is peace in every possible sense of that word. It includes soundness in body and mind, health and prosperity, peace and favor in human relationships, it talks about peace and friendship with God in our relationship with Him, it talks about peace from war and conflict and turmoil and it talks about peace as in a state of complete tranquility, that means in every area of life there is wellbeing. When the bible says God will keep us in perfect peace, He is saying, God will bring us into a place of total shalom, total wellbeing and that is something the scripture is saying is available to us and this is what we want to explore. How can we living in a world that is so full of confusion and all kinds of things around us, trouble, turmoil, hardships, difficulties, things that trouble our minds and bodies, in the midst of all of this, how can we be in this place of total shalom, of perfect peace? Shalom, shalom, that is what we want to discover and learn and together aspire to move into that place of perfect peace and may the Lord help us do this as we journey together. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for this promise of perfect peace, a place of total shalom that you promise to keep us in and under. We ask that you will help each of us learn how to journey into that pace of total wellbeing, that everything in our lives is in total shalom and may we all experience that we pray, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
