Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Sent (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Nancy Ramya

Welcome everyone, thank you for joining us. We are looking at the life of Jesus, His ministry and His mandate and we have talked about the power of the Cross and what has been done for us through the finished work of the Cross. We’ve seen that Jesus came to release the goodness of God upon the lives of mankind and not just that but to set us free from the bondage of sin and the consequences of sin, that is exciting in itself. We have also seen that salvation is spiritual in its nature, but it is also something that affects every part of our being, it also affects our soul and body. We can walk in healing; we can experience God’s deliverance and also have the wholeness of God.

In the earthly ministry that Jesus did, He went about doing all these wonderful works as we have seen in Acts chapter 10 and verse 38, but another thing that we observe is that He sent forth His disciples to do what He did. He asked them to go and freely give to others what they had received. In doing this, as the disciples went out and started ministering to others, they saw that demon spirits were leaving/ cast out in the name of Jesus and many mighty miracles, signs and wonders were being done through the hands of the disciples. This shows us that Jesus was not just interested in doing these works all by Himself, but He wanted to commission people to continue to do these works. It is even more exciting to note that His disciples can do the same works that He did. Let’s consider some scriptures here, in John chapter 20 and verse 21, we see, ‘So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”’ Here He is commissioning the disciples to do His works.

Let’s look at John chapter 14 and verse 12, here He is talking not just about the disciples who walked with Him, but even the disciples who are yet to come and He says, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.’ Isn’t that amazing to know that Jesus expects those who believe in Him, and which would be you and I, on the other side of the cross, during our generation, in our time, that even we can walk in the works that the Lord Jesus did. What are the kinds of works that His disciples did? He told His disciples in Mathew chapter 10 and verse 8, ‘Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.’ So today friends, all of us who believe in the Lord Jesus can do the same works that He commissioned His disciples to do. Can we just pray that God would enable us to walk in these things?

Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we pray that as your disciples we will be your representatives and we pray that as your body and your church that we will walk in the works that Jesus did and the greater works, as you have spoken that upon us, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
