Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Shalom and welcome to the midweek where we are continuing to talk about God’s timing. Through this week, we have looked at different aspects of God’s timing. We looked at the importance of trusting in His timing, where we wait with patience upon His timing, surrendering control and also hoping in the promises of God, as we look unto God for His timing. Today, we are going to be looking at the implications of sometimes a rushing ahead, when we go without seeking God’s wisdom. Proverbs chapter 19, verse 2 reads, ‘Zeal without knowledge is not good; a person who moves too quickly may go the wrong way.’ This verse amplifies the importance of seeking knowledge and wisdom before acting, especially when our desires really tempt us to rush forward without considering things carefully. When we rush ahead, we often do it because we want to feel control in our circumstances. We think that by acting quickly, we can dictate the outcome but the reality is that true control lies in surrendering to the will of God and trusting in His timing. Instead of relying on our own understanding, we are called to seek wisdom in all things. This means spending time in prayer, in studying God’s word and also maybe seeking wise counsel from others. When we seek the wisdom of God, we are better equipped to make decisions that align with the will of God. Sometimes, the greatest danger of rushing ahead is that we miss out on God’s perfect timing. God’s timing as we looked at the first day is always perfect and the best, even when it doesn’t align with our own desires or expectations. When we trust in His timing, we can be assured that He is working all things together for our good. The greatest example we see is the story of Abraham and Sarah in the book of Genesis and it is a powerful example of the consequences of rushing ahead of God’s timing. Instead of waiting for God to fulfill His promise for a son, they took matters into their own hands. Abraham fathered a child, Ishmael with Sarah’s servant, Hagar. This decision resulted in conflict and hardship in the family and the descendants, highlighting the importance of waiting upon God and seeking His wisdom at every turn. As we look through the verse we read in Proverbs chapter 19, verse 2, that zeal without knowledge is not good and a person who moves too quickly may go the wrong way, lets’ look at the dangers of rushing, let’s take a moment to consider the areas of life where we maybe prone to haste. Through these decisions, do we need to slow down and seek God’s wisdom? Let’s bring some of that before Him in prayer today. Let’s pray, Heavenly Father, for all of us who maybe waiting or a promise, we pray that you will keep us patient, that we will continue to seek your wisdom on it. May we not rush ahead, or walk in haste but be patient to know that you will direct us according to your timing. Thank you that you are working great things in our lives, in our character, making us more like you even as we wait. May your wisdom lead us in your perfect timing, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
