Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you once again for giving us this opportunity to come together and minister God’s word to you, even as we spend a few moments in prayer as well. This week, we’ve been talking about evangelism and how God has called us to be evangelists in this world. He has called us to share the gospel, to bring the peace of God into people’s lives. Today, we are talking about being salt and light. Mathew chapter 5, verses 13 and 14, ‘“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.’ This is a very important verse which brings about the value of our lives. The value of salt especially in the ancient world cannot be underestimated. Roman soldiers received their wages in salt. The Greeks considered salt to be divine. The Mosaic law required that all offerings presented by the Israelites must contain salt. When Jesus told His disciples that you are the salt of the earth, they understood that metaphor. The mandate that Jesus gave to His disciples is still relevant and applicable to us today, but Jesus gives us a warning. The second half of Mathew chapter 5, verse 13 states that if the salt loses its saltiness, how is it going to be restored? It is of no use, but to be thrown away. It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men. Jesus did not say we will lose our salvation, He said that we will lose our saltiness. When salt is contaminated, it becomes corrosive and poisonous. What about light? As for light, imagine you are inside a cave and there is complete darkness. You can stare at your hand but not see it, but the moment a torchlight enters that dark cave, everything becomes visible. The whole place is illuminated, you can see the walls, you can see the floor, you can see people around you. Even the smallest light makes a big difference in a totally dark cave. When Jesus tells the disciples and us that we are the light of the world, that we cannot be hidden, we are called to influence people around us, we are called to influence situations around us. If we are being salt and light in this world then we can expect fruit from our faithfulness. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you, for calling us to be the salt and light of this world. I pray that we will be people who will bring saltiness into people’s lives, that we will bring light where there is darkness. Lord, we thank you for calling us so. We pray that you will teach us even as we minister and are led to minister to other people, teach us to be the salt and light to this city, to the nation and the nations, thank you for this privilege. I pray that our lives will glorify you, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
