Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Sacrifices (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Nancy Ramya

Hello everyone, such a joy to be talking about worship and understanding worship so that we can worship God in the right way. For many of us, we already know these things but it is nice to just refresh ourselves in the basics, it just helps us stay aligned to what God wants through our lives and through our worship. Today, I want to focus on worship involving sacrifice. True worship involves sacrifice. What is this sacrifice? When we study about the temple practices in the Old Testament, Moses’ tabernacle and the temple practices, there were sacrifices that needed to be made so that people could be accepted and received by God. The high priests would follow up on these sacrifices and that was the picture which was given for us to understand that there is sacrifice involved in worship. But we see types and shadows in the Old Testament which has its fulfillment in many things that happened in the New Testament. The book of Hebrews reminds us that we don’t really have to make these sacrifices again, now that Jesus has come and He has paid the price for us on the cross of Calvary. Hebrews chapter 10, verses 11 and 12, ‘And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God.’ The kind of sacrifice that God wants in our worship today is not the temple kind of sacrifices, where we go around giving Him animals and grains and all of that, no! because it says very clearly that Jesus has paid it all, He has become that perfect sacrifice and completed whatever needed to be done. 1 Peter chapter 2, verse 5 says spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God, that is what God is looking for. What are these spiritual sacrifices? The spiritual sacrifices are enlisted in the New Testament. Firstly, we see that offering ourselves completely, in Romans chapter 12, verses 1 and 2, we offer ourselves as a sacrifice, God who I am, everything that I have, I offer it to you, that is the best thing that we can do as a sacrifice. So, our life becomes a life of worship unto God. The Bible also lists out the praises that we sing to God as a sacrifice of our lips. In Hebrews chapter 13, verse 15, the giving that we do to bless God’s people is a sacrifice unto God and the life of obedience that we live is a sacrifice. God wants sacrifice in worship and that sacrifice is not any material thing that He is looking for, because Jesus has paid it all, but spiritual sacrifices where we offer ourselves completely to God. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you for enlightening us and showing us the way, we must live to have a life that worships you and that is the kind of spiritual sacrifice you are looking for. Help us to keep worshipping you and honoring your name, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
