Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Shalom! thank you for coming again to join with us, to meditate on God's word together. We're doing a series on pleasing the Lord, how do we please the Lord. We discovered that it should be one of our greatest aim and ambition to please Him. We looked at ways of how we can please God, we saw of how when we walk in the light, we please God, when we walk in the Spirit, we please God. Today, we look at how we can please God with reverent fear. Reading from scripture, Psalm chapter 147, verses 10- 11, ‘He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man. The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy.’ God commands us to fear Him and by doing so, He takes pleasure in us, when we fear Him. So, what does it mean to fear Him? Does it mean that we should be afraid of God? As a parent, I don't want my children to be afraid of me, I want them to love me and approach me. What in this sense do we mean by fearing God? The fear that brings God pleasure is not our being afraid of Him, but it is a sense of reverential fear, the fear that brings about a sense of awe, highly exalting God, to fear Him means to stand in awe of His mercy, of His goodness, of His love, of His wisdom and of His justice. To fear Him means to be in awe especially of Christ of what He did of His death, of His resurrection and His life again. To fear Him is also to see God in all His glory and then respond to Him. To fear Him is to humble ourselves and to adore Him with all our hearts. Sometimes we tend to fear or be in awe of worldly power, of talent, of intelligence, of things that we see but God says in this verse, our delight should not be in the strength of the horse, or our pleasure should not be in the legs of a man. So, God says in His word that He does not want us to fear or be in awe of mighty armies or power or human strength, but He says in the verse, those who take pleasure in Him are those who fear Him. The fear of the Lord is an awareness that you and I are in the presence of a holy and a just God. To fear God is also to live in harmony with Him, to do what pleases Him, to revere Him, to obey His commandments. We are not called to be scared, we have no reason to be afraid of God because He says, that nothing can separate us from that love of God. We are called to worship Him and reverence and awe and in rightful fear. When we do have the right kind of fear, we have a great impact in the way that we live for God. Let's take this time to understand differently what it means to fear God. Let our fear come out of our absolute reverence and love and awe for Him. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, we stand in awe of the scripture that talks of how we need to fear you. Thank you for bringing clarity that we have no reason to be afraid of such an awesome and wonderful God. Lord, teach our hearts to stand in reverence and awe and complete humility and worship to you. Thank you because it pleases you when we fear you, when we have a right fear of you. May that be a part of our lives, and may that chart the course of our lives, in Jesus’s precious name we pray, Amen.
