Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Shalom and we are so glad that you could join us for this series of Living Supernaturally, where we are mediating on God’s word on the topic of taking responsibility. We are looking at today of how we need to take responsibility of our conduct. In scripture, Galatians chapter 6, verse 5, it reads, ‘For we are each response for our own conduct.’ The word ‘own’ carries personal responsibility. We are to carry our own personal and moral responsibility and take onus for our choices. The word ‘load’ refers to an individual burden which is not transferable, it is not something you can give away to somebody else. We each have certain obligations that we need to carry out, that we alone are responsible. We cannot assume the responsibility for someone else’ behavior and neither can we blame others, shift our responsibility or make excuses about why we are unfaithful with the assignments we have been given. We must bear our own load. For example, deflection- deflection often is a defense mechanism that involves redirecting the focus or the blame or the criticism that may come to us from somebody else and that is usually done to preserve our image. There are examples in scripture where people have not accepted personal responsibility. Instead, they have hidden under those excuses which have led them to a place of sin. Some of those things that we see here is Adam and Eve where they shifted the blame. When God confronted Adam in the garden asking him if he had eaten from the tree, Adam excuses the sin by pointing it out to Eve and says it was the woman, you gave me. Likewise, when God calls Eve to explain her actions, she points to the serpent. We see in another place where Cain, he claims ignorance after murdering his brother Abel. God asks him a rhetorical question in an attempt to remind Cain of his responsibility and Cain covers his sin by claiming ignorance of Abel’s’ whereabouts. We again see there is a shirking of responsibility when Moses confronts Aaron and asks him questions about his role in making the golden calf. Aaron here appears to shirk that responsibility by accusing the people of what they have done, of their tendency of sin. We also are people today who often shirk our responsibilities or blame somebody else or criticize someone else for our own actions. But just as God refused to accept blame shifting in the garden, He refuses to accept our attempt to shirk responsibilities today. Let’s carry our own load and be responsible for what is entrusted to us. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we pray that you will empower us to hold on and to work with every responsibility you have given us. May we not get in to the temptation of blaming, criticizing or claiming ignorance of things that you have given us to do. May we take account and may we be responsible children who do what our Father has asked us to do. Thank you for working in us, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
