Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Renewed (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Nancy Ramya

Hello everyone, we have been studying through Isaiah chapter 61, and just been excited about the beautiful insights that we can glean from this passage.

Let’s read today from Isaiah chapter 61, verse 2 (the last part of it) and verse 3, it says, ‘to comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.’ This passage begins with ‘to comfort all who mourn’, we live in a sin-stricken world and the effects of sin are definitely not pleasant. Sin entangles us as the book of Hebrews says, sin never brings freedom, it enslaves us and keeps us captive and oppressed and because of that, we lose our peace and joy. We notice here in the ministry of Jesus and in this Messianic prophecy that He is somebody who will comfort all who mourn. This is the God we serve, not only does He bring deliverance into our lives, but He sees the pain which sin afflicts us with, and God tenderly wants to comfort His children. That is such a reassuring though. I want to take us to 2 Corinthians chapter 1, verses 3 and 4, where it says, ‘Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.’ Once again, we see in the New Testament, a reference to comfort that comes from God. We are told that our God is a God of all comfort, He sees our afflictions, He takes notice of our pain, nothing goes unnoticed by our God. The word ‘comfort’ means solace, consolation, exhortation and encouragement and God brings this into our lives. Depend on God because our God is a God who wants to comfort us. I also want to add based on the passage that we read, that He brings oil of joy for mourning. God replaces our mourning and sadness with rejoicing, with cheerfulness and gladness. God is a God who has done this in the lives of many people in scripture. We could just make a list of people like Ruth, Hannah, Gideon, and all the people that Jesus went to and ministered healing, deliverance, miracles to, they saw the sorrow turning into joy materialize in their lives and that is the God we serve.

Today, I pray that you will experience the comfort and the strength of God. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you, for being a God of all comfort and for turning our mourning into joy. We pray that the oil of gladness will be poured upon your people, let there be rejoicing and gladness and cheerfulness, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
