Daily Devotional church in Bangalore
by Ps Nancy Ramya

Welcome friends, we've been meditating on the hope of God. Today, I want us to recall and recount the faithfulness of God. When we do this, the hope of God remains in our hearts. Let's read from Psalm chapter 77 verse 11, ‘I will remember the works of the Lord; Surely, I will remember your wonders of old.’ When we go through difficult times, sometimes we have to take the initiative to remember past incidents where God worked powerfully in our lives. I'm sure we can all point to healings that we've experienced. We can point to deliverances, we can point to victories, we can point to wisdom which at some point it wasn't there, but God gave that wisdom, and we came out of certain situations. We can point to wonderful people that brought into our lives, we can point to opportunities, we can point to a word that we heard in church or the word that jumped out of the bible when we were reading it or something from a song that encouraged and revived us, these are all the mercies of God. These are these are all reflecting the goodness of God towards us and in the dark seasons, when we look back at the goodness of God, it once again gives an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to work in our hearts. Where there is deadness, God can bring life when we are meditating on His works and on His goodness. Here is something that we will have to do intentionally, instead of focusing on how things have gone bad and how there can be no way out of the situation, we focus on what God has done and what God is able to do, what God is able to make out of such a dead circumstance. When we do this, we are preparing ourselves for God to work in us and when God does new miracles, when God does new things, brings in a fresh season into our lives, we see in scripture that He also puts a new song in our mouth. Psalm chapter 32 verse seven, ‘You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance.’ God puts a song of deliverance in our mouth and through the darkness, we are people who can come out with songs of deliverance. This is only possible if we shift our focus from the darkness to all that God has done and let's keep doing that. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you, that you are our deliverer and God as we look to you, you will give us a new song, even in these situations and we glorify you for that, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
