Hi everyone, welcome back! We have been talking about releasing the purpose of God for our lives. Today, we will consider Mary. Mary conceived of the Holy Spirit and birthed our Lord Jesus Christ. We know that it was truly the work of the Holy Spirit in her life. She was obedient to what was spoken to her. She affirmed her faith by saying, be it unto me according to your word and she began her journey in faith. Once she had birthed Jesus, we see that she was a good mother to Him just like every mother taking care of Jesus, feeding Him, guiding Him and covering Him in every way. Jesus was the promise and Mary now had the promise with her, the promised work of the Holy Spirit and that was not the end of what God wanted to do. Mary still had responsibilities and had to continue working in faith. This shows us that when we conceive a vision or a dream from the Lord or a work that God is birthing within us, when we come to the point of releasing it or when it is actually happening, it doesn’t mean that our work has ended, in fact, our work has begun and we need to serve in a greater way. I just want to encourage us to do our best in order to nurture the work that God is doing through us, care for the work God is doing through us and to work hard. We see in Proverbs chapter 10, verse 4, ‘He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich.’ God is calling us to work hard. It is wonderful to have dreams but hard work is what makes it possible and brings it into fruition. We are not only called to hold on to God’s word in faith before the dream is conceived but it is very important for us to work hard even after we are in the promise. Let’s not be distracted and continue to stay on track and walk with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will guide us and speak to us about what we need to do. When we consider somebody who is a church planter or pastor, we know that they are led by God every stage of the church’ growth. Initially, they go through the pioneering stage, they engage in a lot of groundwork but once that is established, they now move on to another stage of church growth. In all of these stages, one thing we cannot deny is the kind of work that has gone into it, the planning that has gone into it, the way the work has been held is a very precious thing. So, while God gives us a dream and it is genuine, we are also required to do our best in order to care for and nurture the dream God has given us. May the Lord strengthen us in doing this. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that every ability and strength comes from you. We ask that you will continue to lead us with your wisdom, that the purpose that you are birthing through us, that we would do our best, serve with excellence and that your name will be glorified in all things. We bless you and honor you, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
