Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Hi everyone, we have been meditating on releasing God’s work and what goes into that. Today, we will talk about God’s appointed time. It is very important to wait for God’s appointed time and not rush and do things before that time arrives. We all know it is called the ‘kairos’ time of God and we will talk a little about it. Let’s read from Galatians chapter 4, verse 4, it says, ‘when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law.’ This is talking about the Lord Jesus who was born of Mary and He was born under the law of the land. Jesus, we know became a man and this happened 4000 years after it was prophesied. When we go back to the book of Genesis, in Genesis chapter 3, verse 15, we read that ‘the seed of the woman will bruise the head of the serpent.’ This is what God had promised way back, 4000 years before the Lord Jesus was born. How do we understand this? There are things that God will speak to us ahead of time. There are truths that He will reveal to us ahead of time. He will show us what He wants us to do ahead of time. Though God has spoken to us, we must wait for the right time for these things to be fulfilled. This is a classic example: while the savior of the world was prophesied in the book of Genesis until the time when Jesus was born, the promise had not yet been fulfilled for 4000 years. Why does God do this? Why does God allow time before the fulfillment of the promise. One reason could be that He wants us to prepare ourselves. Prepare not just in terms of our skills but in terms of our attitude and character. God is more interested in our character than in the gifts that we carry. God allows time so that we can be well prepared, we could be shaped in the Master’s hands. When we consider the life of Moses, it is very interesting to note how his attitude changed when he understood that God wanted him to be a deliverer, he went and tried to rescue somebody from his own people. What happened? Though he expected his own people to understand what he was doing, they didn’t. After the wilderness experience, Moses comes to a place of great humility and when God calls him at the burning bush, he says, God, I can’t talk. This shows us that he had come to a place of understanding that whatever it is we can do for God’s kingdom, it can only be done by the power of God, by depending on Him and not in our own strength. God was not in a hurry; God was waiting for the character of Moses to be developed. In the same way, God is not in a hurry when it comes to our lives. So, let’s be patient and also work with God and let’s prioritize building ourselves up and surely at the appointed time, God will do what he has promised. Let’s pray together, Father, we pray that you will help each one of us write down the vision. Thank you that you have said in your word that the vision will surely come. We pray that we will yield to you in the process that we maybe completely ready for what you want to do and at the right time, we thank you that you will do what you have promised. We bless you and honor you, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
