Daily Devotional church in Bangalore
by Ps Ashish Raichur

Hello and welcome to today’s daily devotional. It is always our joy to be able to spend these few moments with you. This week, we are talking about healing after abuse or trauma and just sharing a few simple insights from the word of God, things that we can go to, in the word and how we can connect with God to receive healing for what we may have experienced in life. One of the challenges that we face, if we have gone through abuse or trauma is that our inner person, our identity, our thoughts about our own self, who we are, what we are able to do and accomplish, our potential, our self-esteem, our self-confidence, all of these things could be totally destroyed because of the abuse and the trauma that we have gone through. So, one of the things that we need to do is to rebuild our identity. The best way to do that is to root ourselves in our identity in Christ. The bible tells us in 2 Corinthians chapter 5, verse 17, ‘if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.’ When we come into Jesus Christ, He makes us new creation. This is not just a nice theological idea, but it is a very powerful truth that affects our spirit, soul, and body and in every aspect of our being. The new creation that we are in Christ is real. God has done a new work in us and we must learn to live out of that new creation and I firmly believe that if we as believers can embrace who we are in Christ, our life in Christ, what God has done for us in Christ, that in itself will bring complete healing and wholeness to our inner person, to all the pain, the trauma, the hurt that we may have experienced, so, I would point us there. Rebuild your identity, by establishing your identity in Christ, by establishing yourself, who you are in Christ, is who you really are. Learn to see yourself form who you are in Christ. You are a new creation, you are blessed, you are loved by God. God is watching over you, you are righteousness, you have your potential in God, in Christ you can do all things, you are more than a conqueror, you are loved by God, God is your Father and there is so much more. Live out of that, your identity in Christ. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for what you have done for us by bringing us into Christ and giving us this life in Christ and this identity in Christ. May we be established and rooted in that, knowing that who we are in Christ, is who we really are. Help us to rebuild our identity in Christ, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
