Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Purity (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Nancy Ramya

Hello everyone, thank you for joining in. Let’s continue to study God’s word about the things in the word of God that help us walk in power. Today, I want to focus on purity. Purity helps us position ourselves in a place of power where the enemy will not have any foothold on our lives. I want to encourage us let’s pursue purity. We need to ask the question, why purity? Purity proceeds from the very nature of God and we need to move in the direction of becoming more like Jesus, becoming more like our God. This is the description that scriptures give us about our God. In Hebrews chapter 7, verse 26, we are told about Jesus, ‘For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens;’ The Lord Jesus, our best example in all things, even in purity. The word of God describes Him as holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, just to tell us that His standards are way higher than our standards. He is a God of purity; sin and the effects of sin never tainted Him ever, not even in His earthly life. We read in the book of Hebrews that though He experienced all forms of temptation, even the temptation to give up when things were difficult, He never yielded to those temptations, but He was always an overcomer. He always overcame sin and now we have been given the authority and the power over sin. The power of sin over our lives is broken which is why, you and I, as believers, who are born again, we too can walk in purity. It is not too much for God to ask us to walk in purity because He has done what is required for us to be able to walk in purity. Purity is from the very person of God which is why it is important for all of us to walk in purity. I want to focus on the arguments that we may have in our time and age, for those of us who are young and face all kinds of temptations, all kinds of imitations from this world, we see in God’s word that God has strengthened us, even if we are in that place of coming under much pressure from temptations in 1 Timothy chapter 4, verse 12, we are exhorted, ‘Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.’ Even if we are tempted, we ought to stand up in purity. We are told that God’s will for us to abstain from every fleshly lust and even scriptures tell us in 1 Thessalonians chapter 4, verse 3, to abstain from every sexual immorality and to live a life which is pure before God. As we choose this holy life, this life of purity, we will experience the power of God even more. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that the power of sin over our lives is broken, that we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and we overcome the enemy and we rise above the enemy in everything and we pursue holiness, we thank you for your empowering and your grace in this area, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
