Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Purity (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Nancy Ramya

Hello friends, trust that you are enjoying learning about standing firm in the Lord. We’ve been talking about the fact that there are certain values, principles, attitudes that will help us stay firm in difficult seasons and today I want to talk about purity.

Purity is the core of the nature of God. In Scripture, we see God describing Himself as a holy God. In 1 Peter chapter 1 and verse 16, apostle Peter talks to the believers and he calls them to holiness. He says, ‘because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” ‘When you see what Peter is inviting the people of God to do, it is to have a life which is different from the life of the world. Peter is emphasizing the fact that we are believers by faith because of the work of salvation that Jesus did on the cross, but he is challenging them to also have a walk of purity. He asks the believers to have a life which is distinct from those who don’t follow Christ. He goes on to encourage them about their inheritance in Christ and to have an eternal perspective and all of those things because so much has changed for the believer in the spiritual realm. Because of that, the behavior, the lifestyle, the attitude of a believer must also be rooted in the character of God. He is calling for a holy lifestyle and he says, it is written- this is what God said, ‘Be Holy for I am holy.’ God doesn’t call us to do anything that He Himself is not/ that He cannot empower us to be.

When we read the Scripture, we understand that God Himself is holy, and which is why we should be holy. God has made us holy; we have been sanctified in Christ Jesus and that is a positional truth, but we can also live out a life of holiness, it is possible because of who we have become in Christ Jesus and also because of the work that the word of God does in our hearts progressively and the work that the Holy Spirit does in us progressively. So, every believer can live a holy life and God is calling us to a holy life. 1 Corinthians chapter 3 and verse 16, talking about the body of believers, we read, ‘Know ye not that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?’ Again, we are being called to holiness, as individuals if you want to talk about the human body, to keep that holy but also the body of believers to walk in holiness and holiness purity it anchors us in God. When we go through difficulties, challenges and especially when we go through accusations and oppositions there is something about purity that keep us protected and brings us out as gold. Even as we consider the life of the Lord Jesus, in Hebrews chapter 4 and verse 15 we are told that He faced all kinds of temptations and yet He was never tainted by sin. He pursued a life of holiness and purity. Let us do the same and that will keep us anchored in God and victorious.

Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that you’ve called us to be holy, the way you are holy. I pray that we will be empowered by your Word and your Spirit, that we will be those believers with a renewed mind, representing Jesus well in every way, we thank you for leading us into maturity, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
