Pure Holy Incense - Our Pure and Holy Incense (Daily Devotional)

Greetings and thank you so much for joining us and being with us throughout this week, as we took a few moments each day to reflect on the pure and holy incense which God had instructed the high priest to offer in the holy place on the altar of incense. We are drawing insights from that, whereas New Tetsament priests unto our God, we do offer our incense to God day and night, 24/7 and our incense is not the physical incense, it is not the literal burning of candles and other things before God but it is the offer of spiritual sacrifices, the fruit of our lips unto God coming out of a pure heart and a life that is consecrated to God. As New Testament priests, there is a spiritual reality and there is this spiritual significance that we are called to offer up spiritual sacrifices to God as sweet smelling savor. The New Testament talks to us about offering our bodies as a living sacrifice. The New Testament talks to us about our giving. In Philippians chapter 4, our giving becomes a sweet aroma unto the Lord. The New Tetsament talks to us about our lives being poured out as an offering to God. Hebrews talks to us about bringing the sacrifice of praise. 1 Peter chapter 2 talks to us about bringing spiritual sacrifices and these other kinds of things that we offer to God. The Lord Jesus taught us that we worship God in spirit and in truth, that means the offerings that we bring come out of our spirit, empowered by the Holy Spirit, they come out of the revelation given to us by the Holy Spirit, they come out of a true, pure and sincere heart. So, as we as priests offer up spiritual sacrifices, let us keep these things in mind about the incense and how God wanted that to be offered to Him and may we worship God in spirit and in truth, each and every day, making sure there is a continual, rising up of incense from the altars of hearts unto God.

Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for what we could learn this week as we journeyed together. May we apply this into our lives. May we have altars that always have incense burning and rising, prayer and intercession, praise ad worship rising up before the throne of God. May we bring pure, sacred and holy incense offering it up to you at all times, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
