Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Pruned (Daily Devotional)

Greetings! It is such a joy to be able to come to you today to take a few moments to meditate in God’s word and in prayer. We trust that each and very day we will continue to grow strong in the Lord and be empowered in Him and may this day be a blessed day in your life.

This week we are reflecting on the vine, the vinedresser, and the branches. In John chapter 15 and verse 2, the Lord Jesus said, ‘Every branch in me that does not bear fruit, He takes away and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes that it may bear more fruits. As we reflect on the illustration the Lord Jesus used about the vine, the branches, and the vinedresser; in verse 2 the Lord Jesus reveals to us what the vinedresser does- the vinedresser is the keeper of the farm, and He is watching over the vine and the branches. His desire is to make every branch very fruitful. In the process, as He works upon the vine and the branches that are connected to the vine, the Lord Jesus reveals that anything that is unproductive He cuts off, there is no need for that to remain attached to the vine. But everything that does bear fruit, Jesus said the vinedresser prunes it so that it could bear more fruits. Imagine you and I (as we will see in the coming verses), are the branches, we are connected to the vine and what the vinedresser is doing to us is- He is working in our lives causing us to be fruitful and to be ever increasingly fruitful- to become more and more fruitful in our lives and part of that process of making us more fruitful is pruning. Now pruning can mean two things, one it means that He intentionally trims so that it spurs growth; pruning could also involve cutting off unnecessary (dead) parts, parts that tend to grow and dry up, He takes it off. So, there is an intentional push for growth as He trims us and there is the removing of things that are unnecessary or hinder growth; both are being done in us so that we may be fruitful and as we are fruitful, He continues to work in us this way. So, what is the Father/ vinedresser doing in your life and mine? He is pruning us, He is spurring us for growth, He can do this be setting us up in situations and places and around people who will stretch us, who will push us into areas where we probably never thought we could get into and we are pulled/ stretched so that we can grow and bear mor fruit or there are times when He says these are things not needed in your life, let’s get rid of it so we can be more fruitful. What is the Lord doing in your life today? Look at it as, His working in you to make you more fruitful for His Kingdom, to be more productive, effective, and impactful in your life. Father is working in different ways to make you more fruitful. Be aware of His working and yield to it.

Father, we thank you that you are working in us in different ways causing us to be more fruitful. Open our eyes to recognize when you are working in this manner and help us to yield to it so we can be more effective and fruitful for your Kingdom, In Jesus name, Amen.
