Promotion (Daily Devotional)

Greetings and thank you for giving us another opportunity to come to you, spend this time with you in God’s word. Today is Friday, we are getting close to the end of another week. This week, we have been focusing on the topic of success and addressing a few things. Surely, this is not everything that the bible teaches on this issue or this matter of success and prosperity, there is a lot more but we’ve brought this more as an encouragement for those who need encouragement, knowing that God will bless us and make us successful and prosper us in whatever endeavor we are engaged in. Now, as part of success, is this whole aspect of promotion, that means you need to go up higher in life. Promotion could be professionally; it could be in the role and the responsibility that has been entrusted to you and along with that comes a bigger remuneration of course. Promotion could be moving up into a higher place of influence over people or in an organization. Promotion could be to be bought into a place of greater leadership, where you have a greater say in matters and things that could influence the organization or the lives of more people. Promotion or being put in a place of greater influence, responsibility, and greater reward, God does that for us. In Psalms chapter 75, verses 6 and 7, the psalmist said, ‘For exaltation, that is promotion, comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the judge: He puts down one and exalts another.’ What is the psalmist saying? That it is God who will bring promotion into our lives, it doesn’t come from here or there, it is God who will orchestrate this, He will make room and space for your promotion. Part of being successful/ being prosperous is being promoted or being bought into a place of higher responsibility, influence, and reward. Who will bring promotion in your life and mine? God, we must look to Him, don’t look to the south, east or west, meaning don’t look here and there wondering where it is going to come from. Look above, look to the Lord because He puts down one and makes room for your promotion. Even when it seems impossible God can make space and room for you to be promoted. Whatever you are doing, if God could bring you to a place of greater influence, sometimes it could come out of unexpected sources and means, but we must stay true to what we are called to do, you and I must do our best, be faithful, work diligently, give it your best and God will bring promotion, lets expect that. Let’s pray, Father, whatever promotion means for each one of us, to be brought into a place of greater influence and honor, greater responsibility, bring it to us, as we stay faithful in the assignment you’ve given to us today, thank you, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
