Daily Devotional church in Bangalore
by Ps Ashish Raichur
Greetings and thank you for joining us this week on our daily devotional. This week, we will be looking at scriptures that promise us good success. All of us in life, whether we are students in school or college, or journeying through some other stage in life, we do want to be successful in whatever we do. Sometimes, it could be small things that we are attempting to do or some significant/ big things and we want to know and be assured of that God will cause us to be successful, to achieve our goal, to do beyond what we expect and anticipate as outcomes. So, we want to look at scriptures that assure us/ guarantee us and build our confidence in the fact that God Himself is helping us be successful in whatever assignment we have been given to do. All of us have different responsibilities and assignments but God will cause us to be successful in the assignments that each one of us have to take up. Today, we will begin by looking at Genesis chapter 26, verses 12 to 13. It is talking about Isaac, Abraham’ son and this is what it says, ‘Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous.’ As we go through various scriptures in the bible and we are going to look at how God worked in the lives of different people, to remind ourselves that God is no respecter of persons, that God is not partial, He doesn’t have any favorites, that what God would do for one, He will do for anyone else who believes in Him and walks in obedience to Him. We read about Isaac here in the passage and Isaac sowed in the land and it is actually a time of famine and drought. It wasn’t a very conducive time to go farming. But because Isaac obeyed God when God told him to stay right there and he sowed in the land, it says here that the Lord blessed Him. God’s blessing as on him because of his obedience. Even though the environment wasn’t conducive but because of the blessing of God, the bible says here that Isaac reaped in the same year, a hundred-fold. That means he had a bumper harvest because God blessed him and he began to prosper and he continued prospering and he became very prosperous. Can God help us like that the way He helped Isaac at that time? The answer is obviously yes! The same God is the God of today; the God of Isaac is the God of today. If God did it for Isaac, you can rest assure He will do it for us. It is up to me to say, God, we believe you will do it for us in our day and time. Regardless of what situations we are facing, you are the same God. As we bey you, you will do this and much more in our lives.

Let us pray, Father, we thank you that you’re able to cause each of us to be successful, to prosper in what we do, to succeed in each assignment that we have to do. We thank you that even as you blessed Isaac, you bless us and even more, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
