Greetings and thank you for joining us today. It is always our joy to come to you and spend these few moments in the word of God and prayer. This week, we are reflecting on God’s promises for good success and we are looking at how God worked in the lives of different people and if God did it for them, He will do it for you and me. Today, we will pick up on the lives of two kings of Judah, one was king Uzziah, he was very young, just 16 years of age when he was out on the throne and he reigned for 50 years. What an amazing testimony this is, what the bible says in 2 Chronicles chapter and verse 5, about king Uzziah it says, ‘He sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God; and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper.’ We also read about king Hezekiah who came shortly after king Uzziah. In 2 Chronicles chapter 31, verses 20 and 21, it says, ‘Thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah, and he did what was good and right and true before the Lord his God. And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, in the law and in the commandment, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart. So, he prospered.’ Here were two kings, they had bad kings before them, after them but they, that is, king Uzziah and king Hezekiah, made a choice to seek God. They made the choice to do what was right in the eyes of God, to seek God in all matters. They were kings, meaning they had a responsibility to take care of a kingdom and people and so much of administration they had to take care of. But the testimony is this, that they sought God and as long as they sought God, He prospered them and made them successful. There is a lesson for us that as we seek God and do what is right in His sight, we can trust God that He will cause us to be successful, He will cause us to prosper, to do well in whatever we are called to do. So, have faith and believe God and say, I’m going to seek you, do what is right before you and I thank you that because of your blessing, I will prosper and be successful. If you did it for Uzziah and Hezekiah, you will do it in my life because you are the same God and I believe that.
Let’s pray, Father, even as you blessed Uzziah and Hezekiah, in our day and time, as we seek you and seek to do what is right before you, you prosper us. You cause us to thrive and be successful in the assignments you’ve given to us - in our places of work or in our studies, in our responsibilities, in whatever work we do, cause us to flourish, thank you Father, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
