Daily Devotional church in Bangalore
by Ps Ashish Raichur
Greetings and thank you so much for joining us today in our time in the word of God and in prayer. It's always a joy to come to you and spend a few moments in God's word and in prayer. This week, we are looking at promises in the Bible that assure us of God's guidance in our lives.

Today, we want to look at Psalm chapter 32, verses 8 and 9, the Bible says, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with my eye. Do not be like the horse or like the mule, which have no understanding, which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, else they will not come near you’. God is offering us His promise. He says I will instruct you and I will teach you in the way you should go. So, we can go to God on the basis of what He has already spoken to us and we go to God and say Lord, you said you will instruct me and you will teach me in the way that I should go. Lord, I need to make these decisions, I need to make these choices, I need to determine which way to go, where to live, what to do, so on and so forth. God, you said you will instruct me and you will teach me in the way that I should go, speak your guidance into my life, please guide me. And so, we can ask God for His guidance. And God has assured us, He said, I will guide you with my eye. That means God is having His watchful eye on us, He never takes His eyes off of us. And He says with my watchful eye on you, I will guide you. And so, we are looking to Him and He guides us with His watchful eye always upon us. So, He never takes His eyes off us, He never abandons us, He never stops leading, instructing and guiding us with His watchful eye. But He does tell us not to be stubborn like the mule or hasty like the horse. So, sometimes we resist any kind of change, we resist moving forward when God says it's time to move forward, that's like the mule. Or sometimes we tend to be hasty, we want to get ahead of God, we are not patient enough for God to tell us the right time to move. And so, He just tells us in verse 9, He says, I don't want you to be like the horse or like the mule that have to be restrained or compelled to move forward. In other words, God is inviting us saying, I will guide you, you just learn to walk in step and in time with me. So, we commit ourselves to saying, God, you guide us and we will follow you in step and in time with the guidance you give to us.

So, let's pray that way and His guidance and His direction will surely come to us each and every time that we need to take steps and move into what God has for our life. Let's pray, Father, we thank you for the promise that you will instruct us, you will teach us and you will guide us. Thank you for being involved in our life, both in the small things and in the big things. Help us to walk in step and in time with you all along the way, in Jesus' name, Amen.
